The 2025-26 National First Division Football Tournament, featuring 13 professional teams, will kick off on September 19 this year and end on June 20, 2026.
The most watched team in this year’s first division is Dong Nai FC with two notable stars, Nguyen Cong Phuong and Luong Xuan Truong. Dong Nai FC will face Quang Ninh FC in the opening match this year.

13 teams compete in a home-away round-robin format, with points awarded for ranking, with a total of 26 rounds and 156 matches. At the end of the season, the top two teams will be promoted to the 2026-27 V-League, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the second division the following season.
A new highlight in the 2025-26 first division is that each participating club is allowed to register a maximum of one foreign player, one Vietnamese player of foreign origin and two foreign players of Vietnamese origin.

The 2025-26 National Cup brings together 26 professional clubs nationwide, including 14 V-League clubs and 12 first-class clubs. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on September 13 this year and the final will take place on June 28, 2026. The club winning the National Cup will receive a prize worth VND2 billion.
To improve the professional quality and image of the tournaments, VPF will continue to deploy and apply VAR technology in some important rounds and matches of the National First Division and the 2025-26 National Cup.
