Joy in new homes
In late April, Mr. Tran Minh Nhan's family (Binh Giang village, Duc Binh Dong commune, Song Hinh district) was excited because the house had just been built. The new house was built on the foundation of his family's old house, with an area of over 50m2 , tiled roof, brick walls, and clean ceramic tiled floors. The total construction value was over 270 million VND; of which Phu Yen Electricity Company supported 70 million VND, the rest was saved and borrowed by Mr. Nhan's family.
Mr. Tran Minh Nhan shared: Before, our family was very poor, my wife and I and our two children lived in a temporary, dilapidated house with corrugated iron walls that were punctured in many places. When Phu Yen Electricity Company supported us with a large sum of money to build a house, my wife and I were very happy. Thanks to that, we had the motivation to borrow money to rebuild the house, realizing our family's dream of many years. We are grateful to Phu Yen Electricity Company, Phu Yen Newspaper and the commune government for their support. With a new house, my wife and I are determined to do business, save money to pay off debts, expand production, and send our children to school.
According to Phu Yen Electricity Company, in 2024, the company has implemented many meaningful social security programs such as: Supporting the construction of houses of gratitude; donating breeding cows; helping children go to school; visiting and giving gifts to families of martyrs, war invalids, and heroic Vietnamese mothers; giving gifts to the poor and those in difficult circumstances; EVN Pink Week; supporting people affected by natural disasters... with a total cost of more than 550 million VND.
The program to support the construction of houses of gratitude has been implemented by Phu Yen Electricity Company since 2019; each year, 5 cases are supported, including policy families, poor households, and households with difficult housing circumstances. In 2025, 5 households will be supported to build houses of gratitude with an amount of 70 million VND/household. From this support, many families have built new houses and settled down.
The family of Ms. Ra Lan Thi Nhim (Ma Giay village, Phuoc Tan commune, Son Hoa district) is an ethnic minority. Having no land to produce, she and her husband worked as hired laborers to cut sugarcane to raise their two children. When Phu Yen Electricity Company supported her with 70 million VND, she borrowed an additional 20 million VND to build a new house with an area of over 30 square meters . Although it is not spacious or comfortable, it still helps the whole family have a stable place to live. On the day they moved to their new house, Phu Yen Electricity Company also supported her family with 5 million VND to pay off some of their debt and gave her two bicycles so that her children could have a means of transportation to school. Ms. Ra Lan Thi Nhim emotionally said: “When we heard that Phu Yen Electricity Company supported us with 70 million VND to build a house, my husband and I were extremely happy. For about a month of building the house, every night my husband and I carried water for the workers, and we did not feel tired. We will try to work hard to pay off the debt and send our children to school.”
Among the 5 cases supported to build houses of gratitude in 2025 by Phu Yen Power Company, there are 2 cases of policy households facing housing difficulties. With this program, Phu Yen Power Company wishes to contribute with the local government in taking care of families with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs. With the national morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", the company's leaders and workers express their deep gratitude for being able to live and work in peace today.

Working together for the community
Mr. Pham Van Tay, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Trade Union of Phu Yen Power Company, said: The program to support the construction of houses of gratitude has been implemented by the Central Power Corporation since 2019. In 2025, the Corporation will support the construction of 70 houses, of which Phu Yen will receive 5 houses. This is an activity in response to the Prime Minister 's call to continue promoting the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. This year, the support amount is higher than previous years to help people build safe houses in the context of increasing construction material prices. Up to now, the houses have been completed and put into use, helping households stabilize their lives.
Over the years, Phu Yen Power Company has also implemented many other meaningful social security programs. The Cow Breeding Bank program of the Company's Women's Union has been implemented for many years, a humane program that has helped many families have a "fishing rod" to escape poverty and create a prosperous life for their families.
Four years ago, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hoang's family in Phuoc Tan commune, Son Hoa district received a breeding cow from the Breeding Cow Bank Program of Phu Yen Power Company. With good care, the cow has given birth to several litters, and now his family has four cows. Mr. Hoang said: "Before, my wife and I worked as hired laborers, spending all the money we earned every day, not knowing when we would escape poverty. Since receiving the breeding cow, my wife and I have tried to take good care of it. The family's herd of cows is now worth nearly 100 million VND. "If we were given money or food, it would run out after a few days, but with the breeding cow donation program of Phu Yen Power Company, my family and many other poor households who take good care of them have the opportunity to escape poverty and improve their lives," said Mr. Hoang.
