The hypothetical situation given is a fire at the D18 General Materials Warehouse, belonging to the Nhan Co Alumina Factory.
At 8:30 a.m., a worker was delivering Jumbo bags while waiting for the forklift to arrive and smoked a cigarette in the warehouse. The cigarette butt was accidentally thrown into the area where the bags were stored, causing a fire that spread rapidly due to the flammable material.
As soon as the fire was detected, the alarm system was activated. Staff and workers working in the warehouse immediately organized an evacuation to a safe area. On-site firefighters used basic firefighting equipment to initially extinguish the fire.
However, the fire quickly grew, spreading to neighboring areas and creating a large amount of toxic smoke and gas. The head of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Team (PCCC&CNCH) immediately deployed forces to the scene with full equipment, assigning specific teams to perform the tasks of rescuing people, moving property and controlling the fire.
After only about 5 minutes, the company's Fire Prevention and Rescue Team was present at the scene to deploy the combat formation. Realizing the complicated situation, the company's Fire Prevention and Rescue Command quickly arrived at the scene to direct, report and request support from the professional Fire Police force.
Immediately after receiving the news, Dak Nong Police mobilized 1 command vehicle, 1 fire truck, 1 rescue vehicle and 20 officers and soldiers to support. The professional force conducted a reconnaissance of the scene, organized a search and rescue for trapped victims and moved assets out of the danger zone.
Firefighting efforts were intensified with multiple coordinated attacks. Fire trucks continuously sprayed water to cool the fire, prevent it from spreading, and dilute the toxic smoke, allowing rescuers to reach deeper into the scene.
After 30 minutes, the fire was completely controlled and all people and assets inside warehouse D18 were brought to a safe assembly location.
Evaluating the internship after the training session, Deputy Director of Dak Nong Aluminum Company Dao Phuong Chung said: “The training session was very successful, ensuring compliance with the script and professional requirements. Thereby, it contributed significantly to improving the ability to handle fire and explosion situations and rescue in real life at the enterprise”.
This is an annual activity organized by the company to enhance response readiness in fire prevention and rescue work, as well as to meet the motto "4 on-site".
