Phan Lê Tuấn An and his journey to conquering the top student position.
In the success story of class 12A5, the name Phan Le Tuan An is mentioned with special admiration. Achieving 18.8 points in Mathematics, Tuan An not only brought home first prize for the school but also excelled as the top student in Mathematics in the provincial 12th-grade student excellence competition – a result that marks the perseverance and resilience of this quiet student.

Sharing his feelings about receiving the good news, Tuan An confided: “After finishing the exam, I had a rough idea of my result, but when I found out I had the highest score in Math in the whole province, I was truly surprised. This is the result of serious studying, encouragement from teachers and family, and the support of my friends throughout the preparation period.”
Living in Thanh Sen ward, Tuan An grew up in a family where his mother was a primary school teacher and his father was a businessman. From his early primary school years, his mother diligently guided and taught him every calculation and reasoning skill. This support instilled in Tuan An a lasting love for mathematics – a subject that demands logical thinking, patience, and resilience.
To achieve the "sweet reward" of his 12th grade year, Tuan An went through a challenging academic journey filled with many ups and downs. In 10th grade, he won second prize, but in 11th grade, he only received an honorable mention. Entering his final year, Tuan An demonstrated remarkable maturity in his thinking and exam-taking skills, reaching the pinnacle of success as the valedictorian. Today's result is a well-deserved reward and a great motivation for him to continue striving towards his goal of becoming a student at the National Economics University (Hanoi).
Dinh Van Manh - a testament to daily progress.
While Tuan An impressed with his maturity and composure, Dinh Van Manh (from Ha Huy Tap ward) won over his teachers with his remarkable progress year after year. The most impressive achievement in Manh's persistent and unwavering academic journey was winning first prize in Mathematics with a score of 16 – a beautiful culmination of his tireless efforts.

Growing up in a family where both parents were accountants, Mạnh was instilled with logical and careful thinking skills from an early age. Recognizing his aptitude for natural sciences, his perseverance, and his determination, his family guided him towards pursuing a career in medicine – a goal requiring sustained effort and unwavering willpower. Looking back, Mạnh's achievements are clear evidence of his gradual growth. These include third place at the provincial level in grades 9 and 10, second place in grade 11, and first place in grade 12.
Each school year, Mạnh sets higher and more serious standards for himself. “To achieve good results, in addition to mastering the basic knowledge, I often learn from my teachers, discuss with friends, and find materials to study on my own. I think that to succeed, the most important thing is to persevere with the goal you have chosen,” Mạnh shared.
It was Mạnh's perseverance in accumulating knowledge that helped him break through at the right time, earning him a place on the school's honor roll. This result also serves as a stepping stone for him to be more confident in his efforts to study, conquer knowledge, and achieve his goal of becoming a medical student.
Vo Ta Dung – a breakthrough stemming from a passion for Chemistry.
Adding to the pride of class 12A5, Vo Ta Dung also excelled, winning first prize in Chemistry with 18.3 points, just 0.4 points behind the top scorer in the province. Living in Thanh Sen ward, Dung grew up in a family where both parents are pharmacists, thus he developed an early love for the medical profession.

From the very first lessons on the structure of matter and chemical reactions, Dung showed a special interest in Chemistry. This passion was nurtured throughout his school years, clearly demonstrated by his persistent efforts, winning second prize in 10th grade, third prize in 11th grade, and a breakthrough in 12th grade with first prize at the provincial level.
Sharing his thoughts on this year's exam, Dung said: "The exam included some questions related to reaction mechanisms that were quite new, but thanks to thorough preparation, familiarization with various types of exercises, and in-depth study of the theory, I didn't encounter many difficulties during the exam."
For Dung, hard work and the ability to systematically organize knowledge are the keys to maintaining his performance and making significant breakthroughs. His dream of becoming a medical student continues to be the driving force behind his perseverance in pursuing his chosen path, ready to conquer even greater challenges ahead.
Beyond their individual achievements, the three outstanding students from class 12A5 share a valuable common trait: a spirit of unity, sharing, and mutual progress. Throughout their preparation, they frequently exchanged knowledge, shared exam-taking experiences, and encouraged each other to overcome the pressure of the gifted student competition.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hanh, homeroom teacher of class 12A5, shared: “Although the joy isn't entirely complete with 7 out of 8 students winning prizes (including 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, and 1 consolation prize), this is a well-deserved reward for their efforts. They all possess good qualities, a clear passion for learning, and the ability to quickly identify problems. Among them, Manh has shown remarkable progress, Dung has maintained his performance and made breakthroughs, and Tuan An has clearly demonstrated the qualities of a top student.”
The success of class 12A5 adds vibrant colors to the overall achievement picture of Phan Dinh Phung High School in this year's provincial-level 12th-grade student excellence competition.
In the 2025-2026 high school year's 12th grade gifted student competition, students from Phan Dinh Phung High School achieved outstanding results, with 23 out of 26 participating students winning awards, a success rate of 88.4%, including 6 first prizes. This result clearly demonstrates the students' abilities and studious spirit, the dedication and responsibility of the teaching staff, and the school's high-quality education .
