Located more than 20km east of Ho Chi Minh City center, Long Phuoc ward (Thu Duc city) is an island surrounded by Tac river, Dong Nai river and Soai Rap river.
Most of the island is still forest, canals, cool air. In 2013, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee planned this place as a residential area with garden houses - eco- tourism in Long Phuoc ward.
Accordingly, many investors have flocked to Long Phuoc Islet to design and build eco-tourism areas combined with housing to serve tourism and resorts. However, the inconvenience of traffic infrastructure is too great.
To get to Long Phuoc Islet, there is only one route through Truong Phuoc Bridge or you have to travel by boat or canoe. The eco-tourism industry is therefore in a state of lack of visitors.
In the last months of 2023, the business investment atmosphere has become bustling again when Long Dai bridge, the second bridge connecting to Long Phuoc island, is about to be completed.
Long Dai Bridge connecting Long Binh ward and Long Phuoc ward, across Tac river, is now 99% complete.
At the construction site, workers are installing the final connections of the lighting system. Many signs show that the tourism investment process has truly revived.

Long Phuoc Islet has an area of 24.44 km², located in the east of Thu Duc City, surrounded by the Tac River, Dong Nai River and Soai Rap River. The countryside scenery and fresh air of this island are loved by people in Ho Chi Minh City, but most of them are afraid to come because the traffic infrastructure is not yet developed.
As of December 2023, Truong Phuoc Bridge is still the only bridge connecting Long Phuoc Islet with... the mainland.
Before the Truong Phuoc Bridge was built across the Tac River, people had to travel between the two banks by boat or canoe. However, the Truong Phuoc Bridge did not completely solve the traffic problem because after the bridge was built, people still had to take a detour.

Long Dai Bridge is the second bridge to break the monopoly of the island, connecting Long Binh ward to Long Phuoc. The head of the bridge in Long Binh ward is a large real estate project with nearly 100 completed luxury apartment blocks, which is the driving force for Long Phuoc island tourism to welcome a large number of visitors.
Long Dai Bridge is 350m long, 12m wide, and has 4 lanes. The approach road to the bridge (photo) is 100% complete, awaiting inauguration.
An electrical technician is checking the control panel of the lighting system on the bridge. It is likely that Long Dai Bridge will be inaugurated in December 2023, helping Long Phuoc Islet "take off" with its tourism potential.
The area of a real estate project under construction near Long Dai Bridge is advertised as the most luxurious residences in the East of Ho Chi Minh City.
A Glamping-style camping resort along the river has taken shape. This is also a tourism model that promises to attract many young customers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City on weekends.
