Vietnamese weightlifters compete successfully at the 2025 Asian Youth Games

VHO - Concluding the competitions at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) held in Bahrain, the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team excellently completed their mission by winning 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals.

Accordingly, the prestigious gold medal was brought home thanks to the efforts of athlete Nguyen Thanh Duy. In the men's 65kg weight class, Thanh Duy successfully lifted 156kg to step onto the highest podium to receive the medal.

The Vietnamese youth weightlifting team had a successful congress.

After Thanh Duy's gold medal, another hope is Y Lien who competed quite successfully in the women's 53kg weight class.

In this weight class, Y Lien excellently brought home 1 silver medal in clean and jerk with the highest weight of 106kg and 1 bronze medal in snatch with the highest weight of 82kg.

The team's remaining two bronze medals were won by Dao Thi Yen in the women's 44kg category and Hung Van The in the men's under 56kg category.

At the end of AYG 2025, weightlifting won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals and was the most successful team of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the congress.

According to the Coaching Board, at this continental level playground for young athletes, the Vietnamese weightlifting team, in addition to the valuable and meaningful medals that the athletes won, what is noteworthy is that each athlete showed confidence, determination and bravery against strong opponents.

It is expected that at 2:15 p.m. on October 31, the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team will return home, ending their competition journey at AYG 2025.
