The workshop took place in person at the University of Technology ( Ho Chi Minh City) and online through the platforms of the Central Youth Union, the Central Vietnam Student Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association and the Ho Chi Minh City National University with the participation of representatives of the Central Vietnam Student Association, scientists , technology experts, businesses and more than 2,000 students majoring in related fields at home and abroad.
The event is the opening activity for a series of 11 national student science seminars, associated with strategic technology groups in accordance with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation and the Prime Minister's decision on strategic technology groups.
In the period of national digital transformation entering an accelerated period, cloud computing, quantum computing and big data technology have become the core knowledge infrastructure of all fields - from manufacturing, education, healthcare to public administration.

Speaking at the workshop, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet said that we are witnessing a Vietnam changing every day - not only on the roads and constructions, but also in the way we learn, research and work. From online classes, open laboratories, to student start-up projects, the spirit of science and innovation has truly spread strongly among the young generation.

Over the past time, the Vietnam Student Association has continuously developed in both scale and stature, affirming its role as a representative organization, accompanying and leading the student movement nationwide. With a deep understanding that orienting students to be ready to take on tasks in science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation is a key issue, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association has recently closely followed the policies of the Party and the State, directly directing the Associations at all levels to implement many strategic solutions: from promoting the Student scientific research movement, student innovation - start-up to building an environment for learning, research, technology application, encouraging the spirit of innovation in each student.
The common goal is to create conditions for students to maximize their capacity and intelligence, contributing to the successful implementation of national digital transformation programs and the development of science and technology in the country.
According to recent statistics from the Ministry of Science and Technology, by 2030, Vietnam will need about 1.3 to 1.5 million digital workers - people capable of working in new technology fields. But currently, Vietnam can only meet less than half of that demand. This is a challenge, but also an opportunity for today's young generation.
An opportunity to affirm that Vietnamese youth and students have enough capacity, courage, and aspiration to stand at the forefront of mastering science and technology and building a digital nation, as General Secretary To Lam affirmed: "Young people must be trained to become pioneers in mastering new technologies, with enough capacity to research, develop, and apply the most advanced achievements into practice."
"More than ever, knowledge is not only for studying, for exams, but for living, for creating and for contributing. Each line of code, each idea, each research project of yours - no matter how small - is a brick contributing to the foundation of a strong Vietnam in the future. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association pledges to continue to play a role in creating, connecting and accompanying, creating the best conditions for Vietnamese students to fulfill the mission of mastering science and technology, always maintaining a pioneering position in the national digital transformation in the period of 2025 - 2030, contributing to helping the country take off in a new era of knowledge and creativity. " - Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed.

The conference at the University of Technology, VNU-HCM is the opening event of a series of 11 national student scientific conferences related to 11 strategic technology groups of Vietnam, including: AI, semiconductor chips, cyber security, robotics - automation, advanced materials - energy, biomedicine, blockchain, 5G/6G, rare earth - ocean - underground technology, and aerospace.

At the conference, papers were presented by experts and speakers from universities, research institutes and technology enterprises at home and abroad.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Thoai Nam - Director of the Center for Computing Engineering, Director of the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the rapid development of cloud computing, quantum computing and big data is reshaping the entire technology industry. However, the biggest challenge is creating high-quality human resources to master and develop these advanced technologies.
This is the right time to unite, gather, and link universities with related majors into a network to better promote the young student force to meet the needs of education and training, the needs of the country. If the Youth Union - Association does well in the story of linking the network of students with related majors of universities, it will create a new wind, a new vitality at the present time.

According to Professor, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Diep - Director of the Australian Strategic Technology Center, the technology student network is not simply an organization or forum, it is an open knowledge ecosystem, where students, researchers, and businesses work together to: Exchange research data in key areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, clean energy; Form inter-school and inter-national research groups, where Vietnamese students can work with international friends on joint projects; Participate in global cloud training programs (such as Google Cloud Academy, AWS Educate, IBM Quantum Hub), to learn the most advanced technology while still in school.
When a Vietnamese student can run a quantum model with a Japanese, American or Singaporean student and publish an international article, it is not only a personal success but also a testament to the maturity of Vietnamese intelligence in the digital age.

The workshop will help students, lecturers, experts and businesses have the opportunity to meet, exchange knowledge, share experiences, propose new research and application directions, contributing to nurturing a young generation of human resources with data thinking and technological creativity to serve the digital nation.
The event contributes to affirming the pioneering role of the Vietnam Student Association and Vietnamese students in researching, creating and mastering basic technologies, promoting cooperation between schools - businesses - international organizations and preparing high-quality human resources for national digital transformation in the period 2025 - 2030.
Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo clearly stated: “Developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation is one of three strategic breakthroughs.”
Along with that, Resolution No. 71 on education and training affirms: "Education is the top national policy, the foundation for rapid and sustainable development."
