The national qualifiers gathered nearly 85 top players, competing in 3 groups: Championship Group, U16 Group and U11 Group. The players competed in the Swiss system of 6 rounds, the top player in the championship group will have the right to represent Vietnam in the world tournament.

Ha Quynh Anh's lead in the mixed men's and women's tournament is not only an important milestone in her personal career but also a big step forward for the Vietnamese Go movement.
Throughout the tournament, the young player from Ho Chi Minh City showed stable performance, competitive spirit and accurate reading of the game, winning 6 out of 6 games.

The next two positions respectively belong to players Pham Duc Anh (Hai Phong) and Tran Phuoc Dinh ( Da Nang ).
