Lao Cai won 7 prizes at the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest

On October 30, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. Lao Cai province had 6 students winning 7 awards in the contest.

After 4 months of launching and implementing, the preliminary round of the contest attracted nearly 1.2 million students from nearly 8,700 educational institutions to participate. Of which: Primary school with more than 528,000 entries, secondary school nearly 463,000 entries, high school more than 155,000 entries, with the participation of 18,652 students from universities and colleges, 11,677 students in the armed forces, 124 entries from the Vietnam Association of the Blind.

Some provinces/cities and units have launched the contest early, with a large number of entries and good quality, such as: Hanoi , Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Gia Lai, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City ... 519 excellent entries with high prizes in the preliminary round were sent to participate in the national final round, including 404 articles and 115 videos .

At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 collective prizes to units that organized the Preliminary Round of the contest well, 124 individual prizes including: 4 Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador titles, 8 First prizes, 16 Second prizes, 32 Third prizes, 64 Encouragement prizes and Special prizes for the best entries.

Lao Cai province won 7 prizes, including 2 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes and 1 thematic prize.

Participating in the contest, Lao Cai had 12 entries selected to send to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to participate in the national final round. These are all excellent entries that show the passion for reading and the emotions about the inspirational characters through the pages of books.
Specifically: Nguyen Bao Ngoc, class 9D, Phong Hai Secondary School, Phong Hai Commune won the third prize in the secondary school category; Tran Thi Tuyet Nhi, class 7A, Nam Mon Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Bac Ha Commune won the encouragement prize in the secondary school category; Nguyen Phuong Linh, class 10A1, Bat Xat High School No. 1, Bat Xat Commune won the third prize in the high school category and the "Best Short Story Writing" topic prize; Ngo Thanh Thanh, class 10D2, Nguyen Hue High School, Yen Bai Ward won the encouragement prize in the high school category; Vi Nguyen Thuy Nga, class 10A1, Bao Thang High School No. 2, Gia Phu Commune won the encouragement prize in the high school category; Nguyen Tran Minh Anh, class 10A1, Bao Thang High School No. 1, Bao Thang Commune won the encouragement prize in the high school category. Lao Cai was assessed by the organizing committee as a locality that launched the contest early, had a large number of entries and achieved quality.

Previously, within the framework of the program, the delegation and Lao Cai candidates participated in the incense offering ceremony and visited President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum (photo above). .

The 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was launched in March 2025. The contest is an activity for students nationwide to arouse passion, promote reading movement among the young generation, encourage sharing, spread the love of reading, contribute to developing reading culture in schools, communities and building a learning society in Vietnam.
