In the highland communes such as Hung Son, La Dee, and Dac Pring, officers and soldiers from border posts were present early to join the local authorities in clearing rocks and soil, clearing roads, collecting mud in residential areas, and evacuating property of households affected by landslides. Dozens of officers and soldiers were mobilized to work regardless of wind and rain, contributing to helping people quickly restore their daily lives.

In many coastal areas that were deeply flooded, Border Guard teams did not mind the bad weather, immersing themselves in the water to evacuate people, especially the elderly, women and children to safety. Hundreds of gifts including food, drinking water, milk, medicine and life jackets were handed out to households that had been isolated for many days.

Colonel Hoang Van Man, Political Commissar of the Da Nang City Border Guard, said: “In recent days, the border guard force has maintained 100% of its personnel on duty, readying forces and means to support the people. We understand the hardships that people have been going through in recent days and are determined to accompany and help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after the flood.”
