DNO - Faced with the consequences of flooding in the area over the past few days, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Pham Duc An has directed departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to quickly overcome the consequences, stabilize people's lives and restore production.

At the meeting of the City People's Committee on the afternoon of October 31, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and wards, as well as relevant departments, branches and units. The task is to urgently review, compile statistics and specifically assess the damage caused by floods in the area; at the same time, synthesize the needs and propose financial support from each locality to serve the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. This report must be sent to the Department of Finance before November 10, 2025.

On that basis, the City People's Committee will consider and decide to promptly support localities to overcome the consequences of floods, soon stabilize people's lives and restore production.

At the same time, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to proactively mobilize local forces, use local budget reserves and other legal funding sources to promptly stabilize people's lives. In case the local budget balance exceeds the capacity, the City People's Committee will propose the Central Government for support.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently survey, assess the current situation, research and develop a long-term and sustainable Disaster Adaptation Project. This project should focus on key projects such as relocating and arranging residents in mountainous areas with high risk of landslides; as well as the project to prevent landslides on the coast of Hoi An and the Vu Gia - Thu Bon riverbank.

Also in this direction, the Department of Construction was assigned to review and propose funding needs to upgrade and solidify highland roads and national highways. The goal is to ensure traffic safety during the rainy and stormy season, thereby advising the City People's Committee to request the Central Government to allocate funding to support implementation in the period 2026 - 2030.
