Youth Union members clean up mud after floods at Chu Van An Secondary School

At Chu Van An Secondary School (Thuan Hoa Ward), from early morning, more than 70 members and youths of the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University were present here to join teachers and soldiers in cleaning. The green volunteer shirts also appeared at many other schools in the area such as: Ngo Kha Primary School; Thuan Hoa Kindergarten; Thuan Loc Primary School; Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School... and central streets.

According to information from the City Youth Union, from the first days when heavy rains caused floods to rise, following the direction of the city, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union has issued a document directing the Youth Unions of communes, wards and affiliated Youth Unions to strengthen the Youth Volunteer teams, coordinate with functional forces and people to participate in overcoming the consequences of floods. At the same time, directing the Youth Unions at all levels to have specific plans to support affected families, help students go to school safely, clear the flow and clean the environment.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 30, immediately after the flood receded, the City Youth Union quickly coordinated with the authorities to mobilize more than 300 union members, youths, volunteer teams, military and police forces to clear mud and soil from heavily flooded roads; and support the cleaning of kindergartens and primary schools... affected by floods.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Secretary of the Hue City Youth Union, said that in the coming days, the city's youth will continue to coordinate with units and volunteer groups to carry out many other support activities such as cleaning up the environment; visiting and giving gifts to households that suffered heavy damage...
