Specifically, female weightlifter Dao Thi Yen, the only female representative of Vietnam in the women's 44kg weight class, successfully conquered the 64kg snatch, thereby winning third place (bronze).

Dao Thi Yen was only behind two opponents from China and India who were considered championship candidates before the tournament.

Vietnam wins medals in Athletics, Taekwondo, Golf at 2025 Asian Youth Games
According to the assessment of the coaching board of the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team, Dao Thi Yen's performance at this congress exceeded professional expectations, because before the tournament the team only set a goal of being in the top 5 of the continent.
Along with that, the hope of young Vietnamese weightlifting - Hung Van The also competed in the men's under 56kg weight class.
In the snatch event, Hung Van The had a good start when he successfully lifted 107kg and 111kg. On his third snatch attempt with 114kg, the young Vietnamese weightlifter could not successfully lift it.
It was a pity that both weightlifters ranked above Hung Van The could only snatch 112kg. Therefore, in the snatch, the Vietnamese weightlifter won the bronze medal.
Thus, weightlifting has brought home 2 more bronze medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. Currently, Vietnam has 5 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, continuing to rank 24th.
