This is a solid premise for the province to continue implementing the New Rural Development Program (NRD) towards ecological agriculture , modern countryside, and civilized farmers.
With the participation of the entire political system, business community and people, the emulation movement "Dak Lak joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period of 2020 - 2025 has contributed to significantly changing the appearance of rural areas, improving the material and spiritual life of people.
Up to now, rural infrastructure has developed synchronously, with most inter-commune and inter-village roads being asphalted and concreted; the school system and cultural and sports facilities have been upgraded. The rural economy has improved a lot, associated with the restructuring of the agricultural sector. People's lives have been increasingly improved; the average income per capita in 2024 of Dak Lak province (old) will reach 45.55 million VND/year, Phu Yen province (old) will reach 47.52 million VND/year.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province currently has 26/88 communes meeting the NTM standards, reaching a rate of 29.55%, of which 4/26 communes meet the advanced NTM standards. One of the highlights is the implementation of building model NTM residential areas and model NTM gardens. To date, the province has 31 model NTM residential areas, 42 gardens recognized as model gardens and 5 smart NTM villages recognized.
To achieve these results, many localities have implemented new and creative methods, bringing about practical results. For example, Song Hinh commune, implementing the construction of new rural areas, the commune has issued many plans and assigned specific tasks to each unit and individual; in which, the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" has become the focus of the movement and received positive response from the majority of people.
According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Hien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Hinh Commune, emulation movements in villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods associated with building new rural areas have achieved many outstanding results, with many effective models such as: security cameras, economic development, building political systems, self-managed roads..., contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The average income per capita of the commune has increased significantly, from 22 million VND (in 2019) to nearly 60 million VND in 2025.
Hoa Son village and Ma Sung village are two typical collectives of Song Hinh commune in building new rural areas. In particular, Hoa Son villagers contributed 220 million VND to build 10 roads, with a total length of 2,200 m; installed street electricity systems, ensuring 100% of households have clean water and self-destructing toilets. The village also maintains environmental sanitation activities, plants trees and plants 4.2 hectares of reforestation.
In Ma Sung village, people unanimously donated land and assets worth about 3 billion VND to build roads, cultural houses, cemeteries and kindergartens... Party cell secretary and head of Ma Sung village Ksor Y Diem said that the community service works were opened and newly built, spacious and clean, making the village's appearance better and bringing opportunities for production and business development to people.
Along with changing the appearance of rural areas, Dak Lak has also successfully implemented the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program, developing typical products such as coffee, honey, avocado, banana, durian...; thereby increasing product value, expanding the market, increasing income for people. Up to now, the whole province has recognized 764 OCOP products (including 2 5-star products, 1 potential 5-star product, 50 4-star products, 656 3-star products...) of 372 entities.
Typically, Ea Drang commune has 8 products recognized as 3-star OCOP, mainly typical products such as coffee, wine, bird's nest, macadamia, honey, soursop tea... OCOP subjects have proactively applied science and technology to production, improving quality standards. Many products have a firm foothold in the market and are favored by consumers. To achieve this result, the local government has proactively implemented many synchronous solutions, especially actively supporting subjects to perfect products in terms of logos, brands, and traceability stamps. In particular, the commune has promoted promotional connections so that products are widely introduced.
In particular, the Ea Drang Commune Farmers' Association is a creative example in promoting OCOP products using the digital transformation model. The Association has proactively proposed and implemented the encoding of local agricultural products and OCOP products using QR codes. These QR codes are installed at the Central Square and the Public Administration Service Center of the commune. Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Hoa, Chairwoman of the Ea Drang Commune Farmers' Association, said: "People and tourists only need to scan the code to know full information and contact to order immediately. This is a simple, low-cost but clearly effective method."

In addition, the Commune Farmers' Association also proactively signed a Coordination Program with the Hoa My Commune Farmers' Association and Tuy Hoa Ward on connecting, promoting and consuming typical agricultural products and OCOP products. The three units agreed to build a "Linked Digital Booth" to display and trade agricultural products between the West and East of Dak Lak, contributing to promoting OCOP products and increasing farmers' income.
According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from the practical implementation of the emulation movement to build new rural areas in the period of 2020 - 2025, it shows that the key factor is that propaganda and mobilization work must go one step ahead, helping people to be more clearly aware of the responsibilities and benefits when participating in building new rural areas. Along with that is the flexible combination of many resources to create a combined strength. In particular, the strong leadership and close direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels are the decisive factors for the success of the movement.
| In the period of 2026 - 2030, Dak Lak continues to implement the New Rural Development Program in the direction of urbanization, ensuring substance, depth and sustainability. The specific goal by 2030 is to strive for the whole province to have 68/88 communes meeting new rural standards (77%); strive to have 1,110 OCOP products certified with 3 stars or higher. |
