Ea Knop mobilizes resources to build infrastructure

Along with investment capital, in recent times, Ea Knop commune has focused on mobilizing people to build essential infrastructure. Thanks to that, many traffic works, public lighting, schools, etc. have been invested in and built, serving socio-economic development, improving the appearance of the countryside, and improving people's lives.

Previously, the road leading to residential area 4 of village 5 (Ea Knop commune) was just a small, narrow, muddy dirt road. After Ms. Le Thi Thuy Hang's family bought land to build a house and moved here to live, they proactively built a fence 3 meters back to widen the road. With the desire to travel more conveniently, Ms. Hang's family reported to the Party Committee and the self-management board of village 5, and at the same time mobilized people to voluntarily clear the land and contribute to road construction. From her persuasion, the household at the beginning of the road agreed to donate 125 square meters of land worth hundreds of millions of VND to widen the road. Seeing that, other households in residential area 4 followed suit. After the route was laid out, the households met again and contributed an average of 28 - 43 million VND/household depending on the land area to have funds to pour concrete and install lighting for the 350 meter long road. Ms. Hang shared: “The State’s resources are limited, so households need to join hands to contribute to building infrastructure where they live. Only then will the face of the countryside quickly change. Since the roads and electricity were built, households have been very excited.”

Traffic roads in village 5, Ea Knop commune were built by local people's contributions.

Village 5 has 450 households, divided into 10 residential areas. The village party cell has 87 party members. After the policy of mobilizing people to contribute to building infrastructure, the party cell, self-management, and mass organizations of the village organized meetings to propagate and clearly analyze the policy of socialization. Grassroots democracy regulations were promoted so that people could discuss methods and appropriate contribution levels. Village head Tran Cong Son said that, along with the support capital, people in the village voluntarily cleared the land, expanded roads according to new rural criteria, contributed funds for concreting and lighting. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole village has had 60% of the roads concreted, 4 roads have been lit with public lighting.

Not only in village 5, people of 45 villages and communes of Ea Knop unanimously responded to the policy of "State and People working together" in infrastructure construction. Many traffic works, lighting, classrooms, fences, concrete yards of schools, canals, village halls, etc. have been built, repaired and upgraded with contributions from the people.

The policy of socializing resources to build public works in the commune has also received support and response from many organizations, businesses, and philanthropists. For example, Hoa Nghiem Pagoda (Quang Phu commune) has supported part of the cost of building 2 classrooms, a playground, and a toilet for Thanh Binh Kindergarten (Ea Knop commune). Or the Da Nang Community Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention has supported the cost of installing swimming pools for To Hieu Primary School and La Van Cau Primary School (Ea Knop commune)...

According to Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Knop Commune Le Anh Vu, in order to achieve the new rural criteria, Ea Knop Commune advocates mobilizing internal resources from the people to contribute funds, with priority given to supporting disadvantaged areas. The Commune also calls for investment resources to build a waste treatment plant on a planned 10-hectare plot of land. In addition, in the coming time, based on the actual review of the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the People's Committee of the Commune on infrastructure, the Commune will develop a resolution to mobilize investment resources to build traffic routes in villages and hamlets; lighting; repair and upgrade cultural institutions, etc.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, Ea Knop commune mobilized resources to build 11 km of new concrete roads, repair and expand more than 91 km of gravel roads with a total cost of over 15.96 billion VND, of which the local budget was 1.39 billion VND, and people contributed 14.57 billion VND.
