President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on voters to go to the polls on Twitter. Statistics show that more than 60 million voters have registered to vote in the second round, including about 4.9 million first-time voters. In the second round, Erdogan will continue to compete with Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and candidate of the six-party opposition National Coalition.
Previously, in the first round of elections held on May 14, incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan led with 49.52% of the vote, while Mr. Kilicdaroglu won about 45% of the vote. However, this result shows that Mr. Erdogan still does not have enough votes to defeat his opponent.
