A scenic area in Hunan province has a convenience store serving mountain climbers located at an altitude of 120 meters, hanging on a vertical cliff.

The Shiniuzhai Scenic Area in Shiniuzhai National Geological Park, Hunan Province, China, is home to a convenience store that many tourists have rated as "the most inconvenient in the world ". The store is a small wooden hut on a vertical cliff, 120 meters above the ground, with only enough space for one person to sit.

Climbers can reach the hut by climbing iron steps attached to the steep cliff and fixed cables. Previously, the shop was simply an empty hut for climbers to rest.

A few years ago, the place was converted into a convenience store, providing free water to hikers if they bring their own containers. The store also sells cakes, soft drinks and juices. The prices are not expensive. A bottle of bottled water costs 2 yuan (7,000 VND).

On occasions such as Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, many tourists flock to this area to climb mountains, and convenience stores help them replenish their water. Employees often bring supplies to the store early in the morning.

"The shop doesn't make much profit, but climbers are grateful for the service we provide. That makes us feel that our work is meaningful," said a shop employee.

At first, the store's employees were scared to go to work by climbing 120 meters high. Then they gradually got used to it and loved the job. The only difficulty was that the store had no toilet, so if they wanted to go to the toilet, they had to climb down by rope. This process was considered time-consuming and tiring, so everyone limited their water intake.

The convenience store was born in 2018 but it was not until 2022 that many tourists knew about it after a video about it was posted on social media, attracting more than 50 million views in a few days.

Shiniuzhai National Geological Park is a famous scenic tourist destination with steep cliffs, waterfalls and trails. In addition, Hunan also has many other famous attractions such as Phoenix Ancient Town, Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie, and Tianmen Mountain.
