Hanoi Tax Department implements standardization of personal tax code data

In order to carry out the task of implementing Project 06 on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030, the Hanoi Tax Department has just announced the standardization of Personal Tax Code data.

Hanoi Tax Department is reviewing and standardizing personal tax code data towards the goal of using personal identification numbers as tax codes to ensure synchronization of tax data with the national population database, implementing the direction of the General Department of Taxation.

Specifically, the tax code of the individual that needs to be reviewed is the tax code of an individual with Vietnamese nationality and is an individual who has income subject to personal income tax, and is a dependent according to the provisions of the law on personal income tax.

In addition, as an individual who has tax obligations to the State budget according to the provisions of law on taxes, fees, charges and other revenues of the State bookstore; the individual representing a business household uses a 10-digit tax code to declare tax obligations of the individual representing the business household.

To ensure that each individual is granted a unique tax code to use throughout his or her lifetime, and that the individual's dependents are granted a tax code to reduce family circumstances for the individual income taxpayer, the taxpayer must fully and accurately update 3 pieces of information: Full name; CCCD number or identification number for individuals who do not have CCCD; date of birth.

Individual taxpayers can choose one of the following 3 ways to update or change tax registration information:

Method 1: Declare changes to tax registration information electronically

In case the taxpayer logs in via the National Public Service Portal: The taxpayer accesses the National Public Service Portal, searches for the administrative procedure: "Change tax registration information" or accesses the link: https://dichvucong.gov.vn/p/home/dvc-chi-tiet-thu-tuc-nganh-doc.html?ma_thu_tuc=1.010244

In case the taxpayer logs in via the General Department of Taxation's Electronic Information Portal: The taxpayer accesses the General Department of Taxation's Electronic Information Portal at the link: https://thuedientu.gdt.gov.vn/ selects the "Individual"/Login tab and enters the information of the granted electronic tax transaction account.

Method 2: Declare changes to tax registration information through the income paying agency

Taxpayers are individuals who submit a dossier to change tax registration information to the paying agency, including: Authorization document and copies of documents with changes in information related to tax registration of individuals or dependents.

The taxpayer is the agency that pays the employee's information, submits the tax registration information change application to the direct tax authority, the application includes: Tax Registration Declaration, Form No. 05, Form 20 issued with Circular 105 to change the information of the taxpayer and the taxpayer's dependents.

Method 3: Declare changes to tax registration information directly with the tax authority

Submit the application to the Tax Department where the individual registers permanent or temporary residence in case the individual does not work at the income paying agency.

The dossier includes the Declaration of adjustment and supplement of tax registration information, form No. 08 issued with Circular 105 to declare changes in tax registration information of the taxpayer himself .
