Tax Department temporarily stops handling policies for people who retire early and quit their jobs - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

The Tax Department has temporarily suspended the settlement of policies for people retiring before the retirement age and quitting their jobs on May 1, 2025 according to Decree No. 178/2024 of the Government.

The Tax Department has just sent an urgent document to its departments, units and affiliated regional Tax Branches regarding the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 1814 of the Ministry of Home Affairs guiding policies related to streamlining staff for officials and civil servants. Accordingly, the Tax Department has temporarily suspended the settlement of policies for people retiring before the retirement age and those who quit their jobs on May 1, 2025 according to Decree No. 178/2024 of the Government.

The Tax Department believes that, based on the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs, while the Ministry of Finance has not issued specific guidance documents, the Tax Department has temporarily suspended the settlement of the policy of early retirement and resignation from work on May 1, 2025 according to Decree No. 178/2024 of the Government. After receiving guidance from the Ministry of Finance , the Tax Department will continue to deploy and implement according to regulations.

Previously, on April 26, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official dispatch guiding the implementation of Decree No. 178/2024 (Decree 178) and Decree 67/2025 (Decree 67) of the Government. In particular, at point 7, section I, the Ministry of Home Affairs provided guidance on criteria for evaluating cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers. The two Government Decrees issued general principles and criteria to serve as a basis for uniform application to ministries, branches and localities.

Based on the characteristics of the situation and practice of each ministry, branch, and locality, ministries, branches, and localities shall develop their own criteria to apply to cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers under their management. In cases where there is a voluntary resignation request, it is also necessary to conduct an assessment and review according to the criteria to determine the subjects of resignation according to Decree 178, amended and supplemented by Decree 67.
