The 13th International Artistic Photography Competition in Vietnam in 2025 (VN-25)

(VAPA) - The 13th International Artistic Photography Competition in Vietnam in 2025 (VN-25) is organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP - number: 2025/002).

I. Organizing unit:

- Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) organized with the artistic sponsorship of the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP (FIAP-number: 2025/002).

II. Content:

Includes 4 topics:

1. Freedom for color photos;

2. Freedom for monochrome photos;

3. Travel (both color and monochrome);

4. Portrait (both color and monochrome).

III. Contest rules:

- The contest is open to all photographers worldwide .

- Each author can submit up to 04 photos for each topic. Each photo can only be submitted to 01 topic.

- Each author can only use one name for the contest (clearly write full name with accents). If the author uses a stage name, he/she must also write the name according to the ID card or CCCD.

- Participating in the contest means that the author accepts the regulations of the Organizing Committee.

- The Organizing Committee is allowed to use the contest photo files for promotion and propaganda related to the contest.

- The Organizing Committee is not responsible for loss or misplacement of fees if the author does not submit them according to regulations.

- Authors are responsible for the copyright of their works. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any disputes related to copyright of works.

- Authors whose photos have won awards or been exhibited will be required to send large image files suitable for printing and exhibition display (if necessary).

- The photo book in PDF format will be uploaded to the contest website for authors to download.

- Authors who violate the Contest Rules when discovered:

+ If you are a member of the Vietnam Association of Photographers, the Organizing Committee will cancel all entries to the contest, and will not be considered for the title, award for excellent photography, and support for creation in 2025; widely announce on the Association's website;

+ If you are not a member of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts, the Organizing Committee will cancel all participating works and will not consider admitting you as a member if you meet the admission requirements in 2025.

Members of the Organizing Committee and the Jury are not allowed to participate.

IV. Contest photo specifications: - Photos must be uploaded to the website: www.contestvn.com before 23:59 on March 15, 2025.

- Contest photos must be digital, in jpg format. The longest dimension must be at least 1920 pixels, with a resolution of 300 dpi.

- Name the work with Alphabet characters (uppercase or lowercase), do not use strange characters such as æ, ø, å… do not use proper names and addresses to name the work.

- No captions or signatures on photos, photos with author identification marks will be disqualified without notice.

- Do not use AI technology in the work.

- Contest photos must only use one Title/name of work (if they have participated in contests sponsored by VAPA or FIAP).

- The photos submitted to the contest have never won any awards or been exhibited in any international competitions marked VN(…) or in any national competitions organized or co-organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Vietnam before.

- Photos that do not comply with the rules or do not pay the full fee will be disqualified.

V. Method of sending photos:

VI. Exam fees:

* The author is Vietnamese:

- 01 topic: 150,000 VND;

- 02 topics: 200,000 VND;

- 03 to 04 topics: 300,000 VND

* The author is a foreigner:

- 01 to 04 topics: 25 USD;

* Contestants are responsible for bank/paypal fees.

VIII. Awards: Total of 49 awards, including:

* Prize for the best author of the competition awarded by FIAP:

- 01 FIAP Green Badge

* Each topic has a set of awards including:

- VAPA Awards: 01 Gold Medal, 01 Silver Medal, 01 Bronze Medal and 03 Consolation Prizes.

- FIAP Awards: 01 Gold Medal, 01 Silver Medal, 01 Bronze Medal and 03 Honorable Mentions.

* Depending on the quality and quantity of photos submitted for the 04 topics, the Organizing Committee will decide the number of photos to grant a national exhibition certificate to the author among the selected photos.

IX. Schedule:

- Photo submission deadline: from the contest launch date to March 15, 2025.

- Photo judging: from March 20, 2025 to April 15, 2025.

- Announcement of results: April 20, 2025.

- Award ceremony and exhibition opening in May 2025.

X. Concepts:

1. Freedom for color photos: Works participating in the Freedom for color photos content of this contest are of all genres, all themes, with all forms and methods of expression.

2. Monochrome Freedom: Works participating in the Monochrome Freedom category of this contest are of all genres, all themes, with various forms and methods of expression. Monochrome photos are photos with only one color with diverse shades. Monochrome photos with another color added are counted as Color photos.

3. Travel (both color and monochrome): Entries in the Travel category of this contest must show the natural characteristics or culture of a region. Travel photos have no geographical limitations. Staged photos are not accepted. Close-up photos of people or objects must have elements that can be verified as being located.

The work must not be spliced, replaced, or removed from the photo. Photos may be cropped, adjusted for contrast, and color, but must be natural.

Authors who submit photos to the contest accept the above concepts and are not subject to other academic concepts.
