Born and raised in South Korea, and ordained as a monk of the Jogye-yong Zen school, Venerable Haemin earned a Master's degree in Comparative Religious Studies from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Princeton University. Before returning to South Korea in 2015, Venerable Haemin taught at Hampshire University in Massachusetts, USA. Along with many other experts, Venerable Haemin also participated in opening a School of Spiritual Therapy to comfort and heal the emotional wounds of many people, and provided free treatment to many who had experienced misfortune in life. |
