Diverse playgrounds for children in the summer

Summer vacation is also the time when parents are interested in learning about gifted classes, sports, and experiential activities for their children so that they can have a useful and meaningful summer, playing, practicing, and developing their talents.

Children participate in experiential activities at the Summer Camp organized by the Provincial Youth Culture and Sports Center in collaboration with a private unit.

Like every year, after the end of the school year, Ms. Tran Ngoc Minh, Han Thuyen Street ( Nam Dinh City) registered her two children to study gifted subjects at the Nam Dinh City Culture, Information and Sports Center. Ms. Minh said that the gifted and sports classes at the Center are diverse and suitable for the children's ages, so every year she registers her children to study the following subjects: dancing, badminton, drawing. Her children are very excited, interested and more confident; at the same time, they limit the time they spend watching phones and TV. In the summer of 2025, the Nam Dinh City Center for Culture, Information and Sports will continue to open 16 cultural and sports talent classes for children and teenagers such as: Modern dance, ancient dance, MC - presentation, fine arts, chess, badminton, table tennis, swimming, calligraphy, math thinking, life skills, etc. The Center has prepared facilities, equipment, and specialized classrooms for talent subjects, suitable for each subject; teachers prepare content and curriculum for each subject according to each age group. At the end of the course, students are tested and assessed in practice, confirming their summer activity vouchers. For swimming, students take part in a competency assessment test and are granted swimming certificates. Participating in talent and sports classes not only helps children have fun, practice soft skills, be healthy, and become more confident, but is also an opportunity for the Center to discover and nurture many cultural, artistic, physical education, and sports talents.

In addition to learning about gifted and sports classes, in recent years, many parents have been interested in short-term experiential courses, especially the "Military Semester" and "Police Semester" experiential activities. In response to the needs of parents, this summer, the Provincial Police Department continues to organize the "Learning to be a Police Officer" program in 2025 for children, siblings, and relatives of provincial police officers and soldiers, aged 10-15, toeducate the nation's revolutionary traditions; the 80-year tradition of building, fighting, and growing up of the Vietnam People's Police force. During the 7 days of study and boarding training, the children are educated in knowledge, discipline, manners, and bravery through training and practice of internal regulations, team formation, some basic martial arts movements, and escape skills; learn and practice the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, the Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue. In addition, children are trained in swimming and drowning rescue skills; behavioral skills, communication, collective activities, teamwork; visit historical sites, volunteer activities for the community; learn to sing and dance folk dances; Seminar on friendship, personal responsibility to family... Captain Pham Thanh Tung, Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union, said: "Implementing Directive No. 42/CT-TW on strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for the young generation in the 2015-2030 period, 2025 is the third year that the Provincial Police has organized the "Learning to be a Police Officer" experience program. Through the experience course, it aims to improve self-awareness and contribute to personality orientation; equipping some basic knowledge about life skills, social skills, helping young people get acquainted with the Police environment, training self-control, courage, discipline, and style of a soldier".

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize the program "Semester in the Army" in 2025 from June 8 to June 14, at Battalion 3, Regiment 180 (under the Provincial Military Command) in Nghia An commune (Nam Truc) for students aged 11-16, with permanent residence in Nam Dinh province. Participating in the program, students can participate in educational activities about the Army, life skills education, social skills, entertainment activities, cultural and artistic activities, sports and field trips, and source visits... Thereby, it aims to educate and nurture young people about the traditions of the Party, the Youth Union, and the Vietnam People's Army, arousing patriotism and national pride; improve self-awareness and contribute to personality orientation, equip young people with some basic knowledge about life skills, social skills, familiarize with the military environment, practice self-control, courage, and discipline. Along with organizing boarding experience courses, from June 2 to June 30, the Provincial Youth Culture and Sports Center coordinated with private units to organize a semi-boarding summer camp for young people from 6 to 14 years old... In addition, during the summer, the Youth Union at all levels in the province continued to maintain summer activities for young people, teenagers, and children; implemented the "Digital Education for All" movement, creating opportunities for children, especially children in rural areas, to access knowledge about digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI); coordinated with the Public Security sector to carry out work to prevent and combat child drowning; Propose sports and tourism service facilities with swimming pools to support safe swimming classes in water environments for children... Also from the beginning of May 2025, the Provincial Library will open its doors to serve young people and children to read books.

With the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the participation of the whole society, young people in the province will have a joyful, useful, meaningful and safe summer. Parents need to pay attention to choosing reputable locations and facilities to register and choose suitable subjects for their children, helping them to have fun, study, practice and develop comprehensively.
