90% of telecommunication services restored after VNPT Tien Giang fire

On March 16, a leader of Tien Giang Telecommunications (abbreviated as VNPT Tien Giang) said that 90% of mobile, landline and Internet services affected by the fire at VNPT Tien Giang's headquarters had been restored.

Currently, VinaPhone mobile network has been fully restored 100% since 0:00 on March 16. For fiber optic service, 100% of districts have returned to normal. Particularly in My Tho area, VNPT Tien Giang technical staff are determined to fix it today.

Regarding WiFi and Internet services, 90% have been restored, the rest are being actively handled by technicians and are expected to be completed on March 16.

In addition, today VNPT technical forces from provinces such as Long An, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh gathered in Tien Giang to support and speed up the troubleshooting process.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at around 0:30 on March 15, a fire suddenly broke out inside the Tien Giang Telecommunications building on Le Loi Street, Ward 1, My Tho City, Tien Giang Province.

Upon receiving the news, many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers from the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police quickly arrived at the scene to put out the fire.

However, because there are many cables and batteries in the basement of Tien Giang Telecom headquarters, fire fighting is difficult and quite complicated. All fire fighting forces must wear professional protective gear to approach the scene.

The fire disrupted mobile, landline and internet services in some areas of Tien Giang province.

Immediately after the incident, all leaders and technical staff of VNPT Tien Giang were present at the scene to urgently fix the problem. Technical teams were mobilized to the maximum, and at the same time, VNPT also sent technical experts to support to shorten the service interruption time.
