On May 9, the People's Committee of Da Nang City organized the workshop "Artificial Intelligence - New driving force for Da Nang's development". The event attracted the participation (in person and online) of nearly 400 delegates, including international organizations, technology experts, businesses, investors, training and medical facilities, and the innovative startup community in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Ho Ky Minh affirmed: The workshop aims to concretize the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, implement the National Strategy on research, development and application of artificial intelligence to 2030 according to the Prime Minister's Decision. This is the first time Da Nang City has organized an in-depth workshop on developing AI applications and attracting investment from AI enterprises to the city.

"With strategic advantages in terms of favorable geographical location; developed network infrastructure and information technology infrastructure; attractive investment incentives and support policies; high-quality living environment and the support of young, dynamic and high-quality human resources, Da Nang aims to become the high-tech center of the country, focusing on semiconductors and artificial intelligence. The city is focusing on promoting digital transformation and developing AI applications in the fields of healthcare, education, tourism, logistics, public administrative services and smart cities...", Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Ho Ky Minh said.

The leaders of Da Nang City also affirmed that the city has prepared land, infrastructure, human resources and is continuing to perfect support mechanisms and policies to attract more domestic and international resources, contributing to building a modern, dynamic and sustainable technology ecosystem; committed to continuing to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for organizations, businesses and researchers to join hands to develop the AI ​​ecosystem in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

At the workshop, experts presented many strategic papers on the development orientation and application of AI in Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular; shared international experiences, cooperation opportunities and proposed solutions to overcome challenges and difficulties that Da Nang encountered in the journey of developing the AI ​​field.

Dr. Christopher Cuong Nguyen, founder and Chairman of Aitomatic Organization, and AI expert Albert Antoine analyzed in depth the opportunities, challenges and lessons learned from world technology powerhouses such as the United States and Singapore that Da Nang can apply to take advantage in the process of positioning itself as one of the AI ​​centers of the country and region.

Representative from Google, Ms. Cordula Oertel, Head of Regional Strategic Partnership Development, Google Product Cooperation proposed a smart city development model in Da Nang based on the application of AI in urban management; Mr. Hoang Thuy Duong, Deputy General Director, Head of Tax Department of KPMG Vietnam and Cambodia, provided a perspective on tax policies supporting AI development in Vietnam and some suggestions from models of countries around the world...

On this occasion, there was also an exhibition introducing AI technology products, AI ecosystems, and policies to encourage AI development in Da Nang City.
