Urgently repair damage to Hoa Binh bridge

Hoa Binh Bridge, part of the local road system in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province, has a subsidence at the bridgehead.

Regarding the road in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province that has just been completed and has subsided for tens of meters, the Vietnam Road Administration has just sent a document to Road Management Area IV and Tay Ninh Department of Construction requesting timely repair of damage caused by natural disasters to ensure safe and smooth traffic.

Vietnam Road Administration said that from May 9 to 11, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in the provinces of the Southeast region, affecting road traffic. Some roads in the area were flooded, and the Hoa Binh bridge in the local road system in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province, had its road surface subsided at the bridgehead.

In order to promptly prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of natural disasters on road infrastructure, the Vietnam Road Administration requests the Road Management Area IV and the Tay Ninh Department of Construction to review the status of road infrastructure under their management; promptly repair damage caused by natural disasters to ensure safe and smooth traffic; inspect and urge BOT investors in managing and operating national highways to carry out the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters on works during the project contract period.

Regarding the Department of Construction of Tay Ninh, the Vietnam Road Administration requested to guide or advise the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province to direct the People's Committees at the district level, relevant agencies and units to repair the damage to the Hoa Binh bridge in Chau Thanh district to ensure safe and smooth traffic.

Earlier, at 4am on May 11, a 35m long section of road at the foot of Hoa Binh Bridge (Hoa Hoi Commune) suddenly collapsed, creating a hole about 3m deep. The accident caused severe damage to a car and two motorbikes. Six injured people were taken to Tay Ninh General Hospital for emergency treatment.
