Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung inspected the VSAP LAB Project.
Attending the event were Party Central Committee member, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, and a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology ; Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, and leaders of Da Nang city.
The project is invested by VSAP LAB Joint Stock Company with a total capital of 1,800 billion VND, designed capacity of 10 million products/year. The project is built on an area of 2,288m², with a total usable floor area of over 5,700m², expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026.

VSAP LAB is divided into two main areas: Lab area (Focusing on research and development of new packaging technologies such as Fan-out Wafer Level Packaging (FOWLP), 2. 2.5D/3D IC, Silicon Interposer and Silicon-Bridge) and Fab room area (performing trial production on real wafers, with advanced equipment such as lithography, wafer bonding and international standard measurement systems).
The project is implemented to practically and importantly concretize the requirements of Resolution No. 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation development and Decision No. 1018 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Strategy for developing Vietnam's semiconductor industry to 2030 and vision to 2050.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung highly appreciated the proactive, determined and pioneering spirit of the leaders of Da Nang city in creating a favorable environment for the development of the microchip and semiconductor sectors.
The Minister expects that VSAP Lab will develop advanced packaging technologies, and train a team of highly qualified engineers and experts, which will be the starting point for "Make in Vietnam" technology products, and the place to inspire the young generation's desire to master technology. Each lab like VSAP will be an important piece in creating an ecosystem for the development of the national semiconductor industry.

At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Technology is committed to accompanying Da Nang in building a mechanism to support research and testing infrastructure, connecting national and international programs in the fields of packaging, design, and testing of microchips.
The Fab-lab project is oriented to become one of the typical models for the connection between technology research and development and experimental production in the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

Immediately after the ceremony, the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology visited the VLSI – Physical Design training class; met and discussed with 26 start-up enterprises operating in the field of semiconductors and artificial intelligence at Da Nang Software Park No.
The activity aims to record implementation practices, listen to recommendations from the business community, thereby contributing to perfecting support policies and promoting connections between subjects: government - training institutions - enterprises - research units in developing the high-tech ecosystem in Da Nang city.
