Da Nang has more and more people participating in voluntary blood donation.

This is an annual activity to honor and reward individuals, families and groups with outstanding achievements in propaganda, mobilization and participation in voluntary blood donation.

At the ceremony, the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee recognized and commended 140 groups, individuals, and family representatives who received Certificates of Merit from the President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society , Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee; 196 individuals/groups received Certificates of Merit from the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, and Certificates of Merit from the City Red Cross Society .

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of the City, highly appreciated the efforts of the City Red Cross Society - the standing agency of the Office of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of the City, the City Youth Union, the Labor Federation, hospitals and the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of all levels in the propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation; the attention and direction of all levels and sectors, along with the active participation and response of the city's people in recent times.

Accordingly, Da Nang is one of the localities with the highest blood donation rate compared to the population in the country for many consecutive years. In 2024, the whole city organized a campaign to receive 42,085 units of blood, an increase of 6,097 units compared to 2023, reaching 145% of the annual plan, repeat blood donation reached 58%, blood donation volume of 350ml reached 62%; the rate of people participating in voluntary blood donation reached 3.37% of the blood donation population.

Many propaganda activities with widespread and positive impacts on the movement have been organized such as: "Pink Spring Festival", "Pink Summer Blood Drops", "Red Journey", etc. Many effective blood donation models in localities such as: "Blood Donation Family", "Live Blood Bank", "Rare Blood Type Club", etc. have been built and operated with high results.

Awarding certificates of merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement of Da Nang city in 2024.

As a result, the city has received tens of thousands of blood units each year; of which, there are thousands of repeat donors, with individuals/families donating blood more than 100 times. In particular, there are more and more outstanding families/individuals participating in blood donation and mobilizing many others to participate in blood donation. Thanks to that, medical facilities have promptly provided enough blood needed for emergency and patient treatment.

Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and commended the outstanding collectives and individuals of the movement; at the same time, called on everyone to continue donating blood, donating blood regularly when conditions permit to ensure a quality and safe blood source for patients.

At the ceremony, Central Retail Vietnam (with the Go supermarket chain) also supported the activity with 140 gift vouchers worth 300,000 VND/voucher, totaling 42 million VND.
