Regarding training activities, up to now, there have been 8 universities and colleges officially enrolling students in the semiconductor microchip industry with a scale of 600 students in 2024; expected to reach a total of 1,000 students in 2025, contributing to realizing the goal of developing a team of 5,000 high-quality human resources by 2030.
In addition, Da Nang City has also implemented 6 training courses for more than 255 lecturers and students in the area, demonstrating practical and sustainable steps in human resource development.
The year 2025 marks an important milestone for the semiconductor industry in Da Nang when VSAP-LAB Joint Stock Company launches the Laboratory Project for Advanced Packaging Technology Production (Fab-Lab) with a total capital of more than VND 1,800 billion.
This is a pioneering model in Vietnam, with an expected design capacity of 10 million products/year, serving both domestic and international markets. In particular, VSAP LAB is the first Vietnamese company in the field of semiconductor technology founded and developed by a team of Vietnamese experts and intellectuals…
The microchip and semiconductor industry is growing strongly in Da Nang city. |
According to the Chairman of Da Nang City, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are important growth drivers for the country's rising era.
In particular, semiconductor chip technology is identified as one of 11 strategic technology fields of Vietnam, focusing on strategic technology products including specialized chips, AI chips and IoT chips.
Da Nang City has issued a Project to develop the field of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence, thereby determining the goal by 2030, making Da Nang one of the three leading centers in the country in microchip design and artificial intelligence application.
At the same time, forming a network to train high-quality human resources and an innovation ecosystem in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries.
In particular, focus on developing at least 5,000 high-quality human resources in the semiconductor field; forming at least 30 design enterprises, 2 packaging enterprises and at least 5 startups in the semiconductor field.
The Danang Semiconductor Day 2025 event attracted the participation of many experts, scientists and businesses to discuss market development trends, new technologies in the electronics, semiconductor and photonics industries; promote cooperation in research and development, commercialization of products in the fields of advanced packaging and integrated photonics systems.
At the same time, create a forum to share and transfer experiences in building and operating national and grassroots semiconductor laboratories at public universities; connect the end-to-end supply chain; thereby aiming to improve the quality of training, research and development, and gradually master technology.
