At the meeting, the two sides discussed the socio -economic development situation, organizational structure and development orientation in the coming time. They emphasized the results of implementing cooperation programs between Da Nang and Champasak in 2023 and the cooperation plan in 2024.
Permanent Vice Chairman in charge of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son said that, on the basis of the special friendly cooperation relationship between the Party, State and People of Vietnam and Laos, Da Nang city always pays attention to and highly appreciates the cooperative relationship with the provinces of Southern and Central Laos, including Champasak province.
Typically, in April 2024, the Presidium of the People's Committee of Da Nang City visited and wished a Happy New Year to Champasak Province. The city received and supported scholarships for 12 officials and students of Champasak Province to study at Da Nang University at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the 2023-2024 school year; supported and sent 2 teachers to teach Vietnamese at the Vietnamese Language Center of Champasak Province in the 2023-2024 school year;
Every year, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang organizes a business delegation to attend the Trade Connection Workshop and participate in the Trade Fair in Champasak; Champasak Province also regularly sends business delegations to attend the International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair of the East-West Economic Corridor - Da Nang. Currently, the city is preparing for investment in the project to build a Vietnamese Language Center in Champasak Province (new).
In the cooperation implementation plan in 2024, the city continues to support scholarships for 20 officials and students of Champasak province to study at Da Nang University at graduate and undergraduate levels and send 2 teachers to teach Vietnamese at the Champasak Vietnamese Language Center in the 2024-2025 school year;
In addition, implementing procedures to start the project of building the Vietnamese Language Center in Champasak Province (new); organizing programs to introduce, connect, promote investment, trade, tourism and export activities of Da Nang enterprises to the provinces of Southern and Central Laos, including Champasak Province. Exchanging experiences in "enhancing the role and implementing supervision of the People's Council of Da Nang City".
Chairman of Champasak Provincial People's Council Saithong Xayavon highly appreciated the cooperation and enthusiastic support of Da Nang city for the province. At the same time, he hoped that the City People's Council would share and exchange lessons and experiences on issues related to the organization, tasks and powers of the People's Council, the work of inspecting and supervising the implementation of resolutions of the People's Council's meetings, deciding and supervising the implementation of the local socio-economic development plan and the work of advising and serving the activities of the Champasak Provincial People's Council...
