Yen Bai is a locality with many rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, large water surface areas, high risk of drowning accidents, in recent years the situation of risks, risks of drowning accidents, especially for children, has occurred very often. The reason leading to the situation of children drowning is because children do not know how to swim and lack knowledge and skills to prevent and combat drowning.
In recent times, the work of strengthening drowning prevention for adolescents and children in Yen Bai has always been of interest to Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels with many measures to control and gradually push back drowning.
However, drowning accidents are still a major danger to children and students in Yen Bai province , a pain not only for each family but also the responsibility of the whole society.
To proactively prevent and minimize unfortunate losses, on the morning of June 3, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai organized a ceremony to launch swimming practice for the whole population to prevent drowning and a training conference to deploy the program of safe swimming and drowning prevention in Yen Bai province in 2025 with the participation of 200 delegates who are children and students in the area.
The launching ceremony was held to call on all people to actively participate in swimming practice, improve health, improve drowning prevention skills, and at the same time create a vibrant movement, spreading widely to every locality, every family , contributing to building a safe and healthy summer for children in Yen Bai province.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, students were equipped with knowledge and skills to prevent drowning by lecturers.
The conference to deploy the safe swimming program and prevent drowning in Yen Bai province is also considered an important task, requiring drastic and synchronous participation from all levels, sectors, localities, schools, families and communities.
Through this, it provides managers, teachers, and coaches with the necessary knowledge and skills to organize and instruct swimming classes, teach rescue and drowning skills, as well as build safe swimming teaching models suitable for the conditions of each locality in Yen Bai province.
