Previously, at around 12:20 noon today, July 22, after receiving a report from local residents about the discovery of a male body drifting in Ha Long Bay, the area between Bai Chay beach and Dau Go cave, the Border Guard Station of Hon Gai port mobilized forces and vehicles to the scene, salvaged and brought the body to shore. The location where the body was discovered was about 500m from the location of the capsized boat in Ha Long Bay (July 19).
Up to now, of the total 49 people on board the Green Bay 58 ship that had an accident on the afternoon of July 19, the authorities have rescued 10 people, found 37 bodies and handed them over to their families. Currently, 2 victims are still missing and the search is still being carried out urgently.
In particular, the Border Guard Station of Hon Gai Port (Border Guard Command, Provincial Military Command) mobilized 1 ship and 3 rescue boats on duty in Ha Long Bay; the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force (Provincial Police) mobilized 2 rescue boats on duty to search and be ready to mobilize and rescue upon receiving reports.
