The four performances were respectively the coming-of-age ceremony of the San Diu ethnic group (Tam Dao district, Vinh Phuc province), the calling-of-the-soul ceremony of the San Diu ethnic group (Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province), the ancestor worship ceremony of the Lo Lo ethnic group (Dong Van district, Ha Giang province) and the coming-of-age ceremony of the San Chi ethnic group (Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province).
The art troupes of each province spent a lot of time preparing and perfecting the performance before performing. "We did not have to practice much for the ceremony because it is the culture and tradition of the nation. But we spent more than a month preparing the scene and props to recreate the space of a real ceremony," said Nguyen Van Toan, a member of the San Diu ethnic art troupe (Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province).
Through each lively excerpt of the ceremony, the audience seemed to be immersed in the real space of the ceremony. This is not only an opportunity for people to learn and experience the unique culture of ethnic groups, but also has great significance for ethnic people when they share their identity with the community.
"Our troupe of artists were very happy and excited after completing the ritual performance. Ha Giang is the province with the second largest population of Lo Lo ethnic people in the country, so we chose this ritual hoping to express a unique cultural feature of the province," said Ms. Le Thuy Dung, an officer of the Ha Giang Province Cultural - Cinema Center.
Delighted that the folk cultural heritages are still being preserved and promoted, Editor-in-Chief of the Ethnic and Modern Magazine, Associate Professor - Dr. Le Ngoc Thang acknowledged: "Without these folk beliefs, many cultural identities would be lost. These folk beliefs are expressed through offerings, prayers, rituals, and costumes that contain philosophies of life and historical and cultural depth. To witness them today is very precious."

The initiation ceremony is a ritual to be accepted by the spirit world, marking adulthood. It is also a mandatory requirement to become a shaman, a respected person in the San Diu community in Vinh Phuc province.
To be ordained, the person receiving the ordination, usually a man, must have studied Han Nom, be able to read and write fluently, have time to assist the teacher, understand and practice some traditional rituals of his people. In the excerpt of the ordained ceremony of the Vinh Phuc province's art troupe, there are 5 parts: part 1: Inviting 3 saints to attend and witness ; part 2: Raising the flag - paying respect to the teacher ; part 3: Creating a bridge - building a bridge, inviting the teachers of the underworld and the living ; part 4: Acting the light, acting the law ; part 5: Hop Lenh (Inviting the five heavenly thunder gods to witness).
Soul calling ceremony of the San Diu ethnic group in Bac Giang province. According to the San Diu people's concept, people can stay healthy because their soul and body are always closely connected. However, the soul sometimes leaves the body to travel and does not return to the body, so people become sick and ill. To make people healthy, they must invite Tao and Phut to the house to organize a soul calling ceremony to return to the body so that people can be healthy. Among them, soul calling ceremonies for children are organized by many families.
The ancestor worship ceremony of the Lo Lo ethnic group is a long-standing traditional ritual that educates the Lo Lo community to look back to their roots, be grateful to their ancestors, and create community connections. The master of the ceremony is the shaman and the assistants. Before the main ceremony, the shaman prepares offerings to present to the ancestors.
After the ceremony is the festival. The Lo Lo people in the region join in 12 folk dances symbolizing the 12 months of the year of their people. In the sound of the bronze drums, the dances, folk dances combined with colorful traditional costumes..., create the unique characteristics of the Lo Lo people in Ha Giang.
Coming of age ceremony is an indispensable ritual in the life of every San Chi man. According to the folk beliefs of the San Chi people, a boy is recognized as an adult after the ceremony. The coming of age ceremony is performed by a main shaman, 2 assistant shamans and 2 musicians playing drums and cymbals. The shamans' costumes have clear distinctions in color. The main shaman, who has the highest rank, wears a yellow ceremonial costume.
After finishing the ritual in the house, the shamans guide the person receiving the ritual to the Ngu Dai altar to perform the Christmas ritual.
After the ceremony, the family held a celebration to show gratitude to the neighbors who came to help and share the joy.
