Professor, Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Council of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that the training innovation work has been implemented synchronously and comprehensively with many solutions such as modernizing the content of training programs, innovating teaching and learning methods, investing in facilities, developing teaching and reference materials, improving the expertise of the teaching staff; promoting learning associated with research and experiential training; at the same time, innovating methods of assessing learners, focusing on output assessment and practical application capacity.
These efforts have yielded remarkable results. In the 2020–2024 period, the scale of undergraduate training at Hanoi University of Science and Technology has grown strongly, reaching 41,581 students in the 2024–2025 academic year, an increase of 7,282 students compared to the 2020–2021 academic year. This result was achieved thanks to the opening of many new training programs (18 bachelor's programs and 25 specialized engineering programs), while increasing enrollment in majors with great demand for high-quality human resources such as semiconductor technology, data and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, green energy, biotechnology applied in food and health, smart factories, etc.
In parallel, student club activities, extracurricular courses to improve working skills and soft skills, business connections for internships and jobs, innovation and startups... are promoted. Thanks to that, in the 2023-2024 school year, more than 94% of graduates have jobs or continue their postgraduate studies within 3 months of graduation.
Scientific research activities also made a clear mark with strong investment in the laboratory system. During the past term, research laboratories were invested from the State budget and funding sources with a total value of up to 300 billion VND. The planning and implementation of research groups, laboratories, and research institutes in four priority areas of science and technology development, along with the organization and operation regulations of research laboratories, were innovated according to a modern model, approaching international standards.
In particular, in prestigious international rankings, Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to maintain its leading position in the country. According to the QS Subject Rankings in 2025, the school has 5 subject groups in the 401-600 group in the world, an increase of one subject group compared to 2020. In the QS World Rankings, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is ranked in the 1,201-1,400 group in the world, ranked 388th in Asia, and achieved many positive indicators in the sustainable development rankings.
Outstanding results in training, scientific research, digital transformation and international cooperation are clear evidence of the correct orientation of the Party Committee of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the past term.
The 31st Congress of the Party Committee of Hanoi University of Science and Technology for the 2025-2030 term took place on June 11, right after the Prime Minister approved the Project to develop Hanoi University of Science and Technology into a leading university in Asia in Decision No. 633/QD-TTg dated March 25, 2025. Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to define its strategic vision to 2030, becoming a modern multidisciplinary university, an excellent research and innovation center in strategic technology fields, playing a leading role in the Vietnamese higher education system.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 15 members; in which, Professor, Dr. Le Anh Tuan continued to be trusted to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Party Committee.
