National Economics University reduces admission criteria, enrolls 8,500 students

At the 2025 Admissions and Career Counseling Festival recently organized by the National Economics University, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, said that in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training will make some adjustments to the admission regulations to ensure more fairness, helping the admission of the entire system to be more effective. However, many candidates up to this point have not yet fully grasped these changes, so they are still wondering and questioning, especially regarding the conversion of admission scores between admission methods and combinations.

“Candidates can rest assured that when applying for admission, they will be able to choose the best criteria in the methods when converting. Therefore, students can rest assured to learn carefully about the professions to choose the best and most suitable wishes when applying for admission in the near future. We also advise students to focus on reviewing to achieve the best results in the high school graduation exam, on that basis, they will have more opportunities to be admitted to their favorite major and school,” Dr. Le Anh Duc shared.

National Economics University reduces admission criteria, enrolls 8,500 students -0 — Leaders of the National Economics University and lecturers encouraged and guided candidates on how to choose a career that suits their abilities and strengths.

It is known that the National Economics University will open the portal to receive applications for combined admission and direct admission from 8:00 a.m. on June 1 to 5:00 p.m. on June 30.

All candidates eligible for university admission must simultaneously register on the school's system and the Ministry of Education and Training's system from July 16 to before 5:00 p.m. on July 28.

After the results of the high school graduation exam are available, the National Economics University will develop a score conversion table and announce it before 5:00 p.m. on July 23. The time to announce the admission results and confirm admission will be in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The process of determining the score conversion rule is carried out in 6 steps. After completing the admission application procedure, the school will analyze the score distribution data of the exams and complete it before July 18.

At the same time, the National Economics University will also build an equivalent conversion table and test it before July 21, expected to submit it to the admissions council and update the official conversion table on the Ministry of Education and Training's system before July 23.

Dr. Le Duc Anh - Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University shared: "National Economics University has basically built the score conversion rules and is waiting for data from the Ministry of Education and Training to calculate the conversion table. The score conversion must ensure similarity with the ability of candidates who were admitted in previous years".

In 2025, the National Economics University will enroll a total of 8,500 students (an increase of about 7% compared to 2024), including 8,200 students for the regular university system and 300 students for the regular university transfer program.

The school is recruiting 73 admission codes (7 more than last year), corresponding to 89 training programs. Of which, there are 2 new majors, both taught in Vietnamese: International Commercial Law and Labor Relations.

The admission method remains stable as in 2024. The school reserves 3% of the quota for direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; 97% of the quota for admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores and combined admission.

The direct admission method applies to candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training, and candidates who won first prizes in national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The admission method based purely on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam is applied to all 2025 admission codes of the National Economics University, and the school only uses 4 combinations based on the high school graduation exam scores: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English) and D07 (Math, Chemistry, English), eliminating 5 admission combinations compared to 2024. For the first time, advanced, high-quality training programs are recruited from the beginning with 5 separate major codes, including 2 advanced training program codes and 3 high-quality training program codes (unlike previous years, these programs recruited students after students were admitted).

The combined admission method applies to all admission codes in 2025 and to 3 groups of candidates.

Group 1: includes candidates with international SAT or ACT certificates.

Group 2: includes candidates with the HSA test score of Hanoi National University or the APT test score of Ho Chi Minh City National University or with the TSA test score of Hanoi University of Science and Technology or candidates with the international English certificate IELTS/TOEFL iBT/TOIEIC 4 skills combined with one of the HSA/APT/TSA test scores mentioned above.

Group 3: includes candidates with international English certificates IELTS/TOEFL iBT/TOIEIC 4 skills combined with high school graduation exam scores in 2025.
