The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Writers Association in Lam Dong

Attending the Congress were leaders of Lam Dong Literature and Arts Association, representatives of specialized associations at the central and local levels, and 4/7 member

In 1987, right after the establishment of the Lam Dong Literature and Arts Association, Lam Dong province had one member of the Vietnam Writers Association , poet Bui Minh Quoc. In 1997, poet Pham Quoc Ca and critical theory researcher Pham Quang Trung were admitted to the Association.

Later, poet Vuong Tung Cuong from Hanoi chose Da Lat as his place to settle down, and writer Nguyen Thanh Huong and poet Nguyen Thanh Nga were admitted to the Association. Recently, three poets Tran Ngoc Trac, Nguyen Tan On, Tran Hoang Vu Nguyen were admitted to the Association, and poet Trinh Hoai Giang came to Da Lat to settle down.

In April 2024, the Provisional Executive Committee of the Lam Dong Province Vietnam Writers Association was recognized by the Vietnam Writers Association. After 1 year, the Provisional Association has united, gathered, and encouraged members to regularly publish new works.

Although many members are old and have limited health, making it difficult to maintain the Association's activities, the Provisional Executive Committee of the Association has always called and informed about the Association's activities, encouraged members to continuously create and actively participate in the activities of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association.

With 7 members of the Vietnam Writers Association living and working in Lam Dong, writers and poets Vuong Tung Cuong, Pham Quang Trung, Nguyen Thanh Huong, Nguyen Tan On, and Tran Ngoc Trac all have a long history of writing, have achieved many achievements, and many works have won prestigious literary awards at the central and local levels.

Based on the quantity and quality of members, Lam Dong is one of the few provinces honored to have a branch established by the Vietnam Writers Association.

The congress took place in a democratic atmosphere with high consensus.

The Congress marked the birth of the Lam Dong Province Vietnam Writers Association, opening its first term (2025 - 2030) with the following directions of operation: Thoroughly grasping the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on the development of culture and arts in the new period; promoting creation according to the content of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; creating many practical literary works serving life, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, meeting the increasingly high aesthetic needs of the people; developing a team of writers, poets, literary critics to ensure quantity and quality, with the ability to create high-quality works, uniting to build a strong Association.

The congress also set out the basic targets for the first term: Lam Dong Branch introduced and proposed the Vietnam Writers Association to consider admitting 1-2 new members; actively participated in writing camps, field trips, and writing competitions organized by the Association at all levels; participated in responding to Vietnam Poetry Day organized by the Central and the province; actively collaborated with newspapers and magazines to publish, announce, and promote newly created works to the public.

The Congress elected 3 writers to the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2025 - 2030 term. Poet Tran Ngoc Trac was elected as the Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association of Lam Dong province.
