Vietnamese Embassy in Russia explores cooperation opportunities with Kazan city

According to a VNA correspondent in the Russian Federation, within the framework of a visit and working session in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation from September 25-27, on September 27, a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation led by Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi had a working session with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minnikhanov Rustam Nurgalievich.

The delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation attending the meeting included Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi, Consul General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg Nguyen Mai Huong, and a number of officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi thanked the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan for the warm welcome given to the delegation. Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasized that Vietnam and the Russian Federation have a very good traditional friendship and have been comprehensive strategic partners since 2012.

Notably, 2024 will see many important events in the relationship between the two countries, such as the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Basic Principles of Friendly Relations between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Vietnam in June 2024, and most recently the visit to Russia by Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, as well as the successful co-chairing of the 25th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Moscow by the leaders of the two governments, opening up many potentials and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

According to Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi, the Republic of Tatarstan has many favorable conditions to develop economic, trade and investment cooperation, especially in the fields of industry, information technology, petrochemicals and high-tech medicine .

On that basis, the Ambassador suggested that the Government of Tatarstan focus on coordinating with Vietnamese localities to further expand cooperation, while having preferential policies for Vietnamese enterprises investing in Tatarstan and supporting enterprises to cooperate, invest and do business in Vietnam.

For its part, the Vietnamese Embassy is always ready to be a bridge to contribute to strengthening and further developing cooperation between localities of the two countries in general and between Tatarstan and localities of Vietnam in particular.

Regarding the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Tatarstan, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi said that there are currently about 700 Vietnamese people living and working and nearly 70 Vietnamese students studying at universities here. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the government of the Republic of Tatarstan will continue to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to increasingly integrate deeply and widely into Russian social life, while preserving cultural identity and national traditions, contributing to the prosperous development of Vietnam-Russia relations.

For his part, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy on an official visit to Tatarstan.

Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov said that he has visited Vietnam many times and is truly impressed by the beauty and development of Vietnam. The Republic of Tatarstan also wishes to contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation between Russia and Vietnam through cooperation with Vietnamese provinces and cities.

The head of the republic emphasized that the Government of Tatarstan will create all favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses interested in investing and cooperating in Tatarstan, and also welcomes Vietnamese business delegations wishing to come to Tatarstan to research, explore the market and cooperation potential.

Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov assessed the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Tatarstan as a united, hard-working group that strictly complies with local laws and regulations, and promised to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to integrate into the local society.

Previously, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation visited and worked at the Investment Development Agency and Innopolis High-Tech City of the Republic of Tatarstan to learn about the potential and opportunities for cooperation with Vietnam.

Located nearly 800km east of Moscow, the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed and potential regions of Russia due to its favorable location, abundant natural resources, highly qualified labor force, strong industrial and scientific complex and developed transport infrastructure. In the economic structure, industry accounts for the largest proportion of 45.8%, agriculture 3.9%, construction 7.3%, wholesale and retail trade 10.6%, transportation and storage 4.6%./.
