Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand acknowledges the goodwill of FAT and Madam Pang

The website of the Embassy of Vietnam in Thailand said that on the afternoon of October 30, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung received Ms. Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang), President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT).

At the reception, Madam Pang expressed deep regret and sincere apology for the unfortunate incident related to the incorrect display of the Vietnamese national flag during the draw ceremony for the 2025 Southeast Asian U.16 and U.19 futsal tournament on October 28, 2025.

She emphasized that this was a completely unintentional mistake, and the FTA immediately conducted a review and pledged to prevent similar mistakes from happening in the future. At the same time, the FAT sent a working delegation led by Vice President Adisak Benjasiriwan to Vietnam to work and directly explain to the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), under the witness of the General Secretary of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) Winston Lee.

Madam Pang expressed special affection for Vietnam

Madam Pang shared that she has been involved in football for 18 years and always wants sports , especially football, to become a bridge of friendship connecting countries. The FAT President also expressed her special affection for Vietnam and said that she always felt the love of Vietnamese football fans during her business trips.

Ambassador Pham Viet Hung said that this was a very regrettable incident; acknowledged the spirit of mutual respect, quick response, goodwill and openness of FAT as well as FAT President Nualphan Lamsam in handling the incident; hoped that similar incidents would not recur in the future; wished that FAT and President Nualphan Lamsam personally continue to play an active role in enhancing cooperation and exchange between the two football foundations, contributing to consolidating and promoting the good cooperative and friendly relationship between the people of the two countries.
