Thairath also quoted the FAT's apology statement, in a letter to Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of VFF, Madame Pang expressed "deep regret" and "sincere apology" for the incident, and affirmed that this mistake does not reflect the respect and friendship that FAT always has for Vietnam as well as other members of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF).

According to Thairath , Madame Pang said that FAT "is fully aware of the seriousness of this mistake and takes full responsibility", and has begun reviewing and adjusting the event organization process to avoid repeating similar mistakes in the future.

FAT also apologized to AFF and affected stakeholders, and expressed the wish to directly meet the VFF President to apologize as soon as possible.

Previously, VFF sent a dispatch to AFF and FAT to request clarification and protest the incident, saying that this was "a mistake that could affect the national image and damage the solidarity of ASEAN".
