On May 8, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with GeneStory Company, Dak Lak and Dak Nong Provincial Police, and local authorities, collected DNA samples from relatives of unidentified martyrs in the area.
In Dak Lak, more than 5,200 martyrs have been surveyed, but there are still more than 2,300 martyrs lacking specific grave information.
Currently, the province has 35 mothers of martyrs still alive and some relatives of martyrs. To ensure convenience, the police force went to the homes of some mothers and relatives to collect DNA samples.

Colonel Tran Binh Hung, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, said that this activity is humane and scientific. DNA testing requires large costs and requires the cooperation of society.
Therefore, sample collection must be done carefully to ensure accuracy and avoid wasting resources.

In Dak Nong, during this period, samples were collected for 5 cases of martyrs' relatives in Gia Nghia City and Dak Song and Krong No districts. The provincial police also went to the homes of the elderly and weak relatives to support the sample collection.
102-year-old Le Thi Tinh, a resident of Gia Nghia, was moved when her DNA sample was taken to find her younger brother who died 53 years ago. Ms. Tinh’s family expressed their gratitude to the police and hoped to find the remains of their loved one soon.
Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Thanh Tung, Head of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, said that the leaders of Dak Nong Provincial Police have directed the collection of samples on schedule and with quality, and coordinated with departments and branches to check the relatives of unidentified martyrs.
