Recognizing that employees are valuable assets of the enterprise, right from the time of investing in building the factory in Khai Quang Industrial Park (Vinh Yen), the Board of Directors of EO Vina Company Limited has paid attention to employee health care, especially focusing on improving and enhancing the quality of meals for employees.
To ensure the quality of meals for employees, the company signed a contract to provide meals with FNC Service Company Limited (Vinh Yen). Kitchen staff are fully equipped with protective clothing and regularly attend training courses on food safety. The kitchen and dining area is airy, clean, ensuring a one-way process, fully equipped with processing tools, freezers, tray dryers, sample cabinets, tables and chairs, lighting, fans and air conditioners, ensuring service for nearly 2,000 workers.
Comrade Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the Trade Union of EO Vina Co., Ltd. said: “To protect the rights and health of employees, the Company's Trade Union has proposed to the employer to increase the value of meals from 15,000 VND to 25,000 VND/meal/meal. Along with that, an internal control team including medical staff, employees and Trade Union officials has been established to inspect and supervise the processes before, during and after processing in accordance with food safety regulations, ensuring a diverse and rich nutritional regime. Thanks to that, the quality of meals is always guaranteed.”
Accompanying the workers, the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union directed the grassroots Trade Union to strengthen propaganda and mobilize business owners to raise awareness of the significance and effects of ensuring nutrition and food safety; organize surveys on the satisfaction level of workers about the quality of shift meals. Many grassroots Trade Unions have promoted their role of coordinating well with employers in monitoring and improving the quality of shift meals for workers. At the same time, mobilize businesses to proactively build kitchen areas and purchase necessary equipment to ensure nutritious, safe meals that are suitable for the conditions of each unit.
Comrade Le Thai Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Industrial Zones Trade Union, said: “With the active participation of Trade Unions at all levels, many enterprises have proactively organized training sessions, provided guidance, and inspected food safety conditions from the stage of importing raw materials to the stage of processing and preserving food. Some enterprises have paid attention to increasing the level of cocoa meal support higher than the prescribed level of 10 - 15 thousand VND/meal to improve the nutritional regime and ensure the health of workers.”
In order to ensure food safety in collective kitchens, especially in enterprises, in the coming time, the provincial authorities and functional agencies will strengthen inspections of facilities, equipment, processing, and environmental sanitation in kitchens; tighten supervision of food safety in kitchens for workers; organize the signing of commitments with enterprises to ensure food safety in workers' meals; At the same time, promote propaganda activities on food safety, enhance the role and responsibility of business owners and trade unions in quality supervision in collective kitchens to minimize the risk of food poisoning and protect workers' health.
