Responding to possible floods on rivers flowing through the province

The Provincial People's Committee has just received Document No. 2533 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment informing: "From the evening of May 28 to May 29, on Thao River, Lo River, small rivers in the Northern region, there is a possibility of a flood, the flood amplitude on the rivers is from 2-5m. During this flood, the flood peak on small rivers, upstream rivers is likely to reach alert level 1 and above alert level 1".

To proactively respond to the developments and impacts of floods on rivers flowing through the province, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment (the standing agency of the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention Command) to closely monitor flood forecasts, warnings and water level developments on rivers (Red River, Lo River, Pho Day River, etc.); promptly inform and warn local authorities and people to proactively prevent.

Proactively inspect, urge and guide relevant agencies, units and localities in the province to strictly implement the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in Official Dispatch No. 2533.

Direct the on-duty team seriously (24/7), regularly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention), and the Provincial People's Committee according to regulations.

Water transport vehicles traveling on the Lo River need to monitor flood warning information on the river to proactively take safety measures and avoid floods.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the Provincial Police, the People's Committees of districts and cities with rivers (especially the districts of Song Lo, Lap Thach, Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac, Tam Duong) shall, according to their functions and tasks, direct and organize inspections of production activities in the riverbed and riverbank areas; notify owners of rafts and cages, investors with projects under construction along the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and mineral exploitation vehicles of information about floods to proactively take measures to ensure safety for people, rafts and cages, vehicles, equipment and projects.
