Dam Rong 2 aims to build an advanced new rural area.

Implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development in Lam Dong province during the 2021-2025 period, Dam Rong 2 commune has effectively mobilized resources, implemented many solutions synchronously, and achieved significant results, contributing to a noticeable change in the rural landscape and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people.

To date, Dam Rong 2 commune has completed 19 out of 19 new rural criteria, achieving a 100% rate according to the national criteria set for the 2021-2025 period, and is gradually moving towards the goal of building an advanced new rural area.

The center of Dam Rong 2 commune now has a spacious, clean, and beautiful appearance.

Investing in integrated rural infrastructure

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dam Rong 2 commune, the total resources for implementing the National Target Program for building new rural areas in the commune will reach over 4.7 billion VND in 2025.

Of this, development investment capital amounts to over 3.9 billion VND, including over 3.2 billion VND from the central government and 720 million VND from local governments. Operating capital reaches over 884 million VND; of which, over 100 million VND is carried over from 2024, and 784 million VND is from 2025.

In addition, credit capital continues to play an important role, with total loan disbursements reaching over 620 billion VND by November 30, 2025, for 1,173 customers, contributing to creating conditions for people to invest in production development, stabilize livelihoods, and increase income.

Through review and assessment as of December 10, 2025, Dam Rong 2 commune has achieved 19 out of 19 criteria for a new rural commune according to the National Criteria for Building New Rural Areas in the 2021-2025 period. This is the result of persistent efforts and high determination of the entire political system and the consensus and joint efforts of the people.

Currently, the People's Committee of the commune continues to direct relevant units to review and evaluate the implementation of the criteria for advanced new rural communes, as a basis for building a roadmap and solutions for implementation in the coming time.

In the planning work for new rural construction at the commune level, the People's Committee of Dam Rong 2 commune is reviewing and adjusting the plan according to regulations, ensuring it is consistent with the socio -economic development orientation, meets the requirements of sustainable development, is linked to environmental protection, and improves the quality of life for the people.

Dam Rong 2 commune has been allocating significant resources to investing in the development of rural transportation infrastructure in the area.

In addition, the locality is focusing resources on investing in the construction of socio-economic infrastructure. By 2025, the total investment capital for the construction and upgrading of infrastructure projects in the commune will be over 3.9 billion VND, implementing 4 socio-economic infrastructure projects; including 3 ongoing projects and 1 new project.

By November 30, 2025, the value of completed and disbursed work reached over 3.8 billion VND, equivalent to 96.4% of the planned capital; the remaining capital has been used to fulfill expenditure tasks.

The synchronized investment in transportation infrastructure, irrigation, and facilities serving production and people's lives has created an important impetus for promoting the socio-economic development of the locality, especially in the field of agricultural production. The appearance of rural areas is becoming increasingly more attractive, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are gradually improving.

High-tech durian farming models are increasingly being replicated in Dam Rong 2 commune.

Scaling up effective production models

Alongside infrastructure investment, Dam Rong 2 commune focuses on developing production and increasing people's income. The commune's People's Committee concentrates on directing and promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector, diversifying livelihoods, and building and replicating many effective production models.

Typical examples include: high-tech agricultural production models, mechanized care using drones; sustainable coffee farming models; fruit tree cultivation models, especially durian intercropping in coffee gardens; eel and sturgeon farming models; circular cattle farming models, and commercial pig farming... These contribute to increasing production value, creating jobs, and raising income for rural people.

The fields of education, health, culture, and environmental protection continue to receive investment and have achieved many positive results. By 2025, the commune will maintain 8 out of 8 public schools meeting national standards; including 7 schools meeting level 1 standards and 1 school meeting level 2 standards, which is the Ethnic Boarding Secondary School.

Public health care has been implemented comprehensively and effectively. The health sector has done a good job in disease prevention and control, especially dengue fever prevention; and has strengthened food safety and hygiene inspections, contributing to protecting public health.

Cultural, artistic, and sports activities are organized regularly, linked to the promotion of major holidays and important political events of the locality, contributing to improving the spiritual life and strengthening the great national unity.

The sturgeon farming model has brought high economic efficiency to the people of Dam Rong 2 commune.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, to effectively implement the National Target Programs, the Commune People's Committee has established a Steering Committee and a Program Management Board; assigned specific tasks to each member, and proactively advised and implemented with high political determination. At the same time, the close coordination of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and its member organizations in propaganda and mobilization work has created broad social consensus among the people.

Despite the achievements, the implementation of the National Target Program for building advanced new rural areas in the commune still faces some difficulties, especially with criteria requiring the mobilization of social resources such as: standard bus stations, food safety-assured market models, and environmental protection requirements in industrial zones and clusters… These aspects largely depend on capital and the participation of investors.

With a determination to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria already achieved, Dam Rong 2 commune aims to continue holding the title of new rural commune by 2026. At the same time, it strives to achieve 2-5 advanced new rural commune criteria according to the national criteria set for the 2021-2025 period, creating a foundation for sustainable development and building an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized rural area.
