Promoting rapid, sustainable growth and green transformation in the digital age.

On the afternoon of December 16th, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and comrades Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh co-chaired the Vietnam Economic Forum 2025, Prospects 2026, with the theme “Vietnam’s Economy: Rapid, Sustainable Development and Green Transformation in the Digital Age”. The forum was held in a hybrid format, connecting to 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

Also present were leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations, as well as representatives of several businesses in the area.

The Vietnam Economic Forum 2025, Outlook 2026 is a significant event, held against the backdrop of a global and regional economy that continues to experience complex and volatile changes, presenting both opportunities and challenges. Domestically, the requirement is to maintain growth momentum, ensure macroeconomic stability, and simultaneously innovate the growth model towards rapid, sustainable growth, linked to green transformation and digital transformation.

At the Forum, leaders of financial institutions, economic experts, managers, CEOs of domestic and foreign businesses, and local leaders presented numerous in-depth papers, focusing on analyzing and evaluating major trends in the global and Vietnamese economies in 2025, prospects, and policy recommendations for the 2026-2030 period. Delegates emphasized that the effective mobilization, allocation, and utilization of financial resources are key factors determining the successful achievement of rapid and sustainable economic growth targets.

In addition, many presentations focused on proposing solutions to realize the goal of rapid, sustainable growth and green transformation in the digital era during the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2045. All opinions affirmed the role of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy, while promoting green transformation towards sustainable development.

In his keynote address at the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the significance and importance of the Forum in synthesizing and refining the wisdom, experience, and policy proposals from experts, managers, localities, and the business community. The Prime Minister affirmed that rapid economic development must go hand in hand with sustainability, ensuring a harmonious balance between economic growth and social development, environmental protection, and improving the quality of life for the people.

The Prime Minister emphasized that green transformation and digital transformation are inevitable trends and objective requirements in the country's development process in the digital age. Therefore, it is necessary to steadfastly pursue the goal of rapid and sustainable development, while simultaneously having appropriate roadmaps and solutions to promote green transformation linked with digital transformation, ensuring effectiveness, substance, and suitability to Vietnam's practical conditions.

Based on the discussions and exchanges of opinions at the forum, the Prime Minister requested relevant ministries and agencies to continue researching and refining orientations and solutions for economic development in the coming period, focusing on macroeconomic stability, creating a favorable environment for production and business; maximizing resources for investment and development; improving the quality of growth, labor productivity, and the competitiveness of the economy.

Simultaneously, we must promote the application of science and technology, foster innovation, and develop the digital economy, green economy, and circular economy. Ministries, sectors, and localities should proactively concretize major policies and orientations into programs, plans, and solutions that are appropriate to their actual conditions, ensuring consistency and effectiveness. The implementation of economic development tasks and solutions must be closely linked to the requirements of sustainable development, improving governance and management capacity, and enhancing the responsibility of all levels and sectors.

The Vietnam Economic Forum 2025, Outlook 2026, contributed to clarifying core issues related to the goal of rapid, sustainable development and green transformation in the digital age. The forum serves as an important basis for ministries, sectors, and localities to continue researching and refining policies and solutions, and to resolutely achieve the country's economic development goals in the coming period.
