At the 2023 national solo and ensemble competition for traditional musical instruments held in Hoa Binh province, the Thai Binh Cheo Theater orchestra was honored to win first prize in the ensemble performance and three second prizes in the solo performances.

The Cheo Theater Orchestra interacted with the audience after their performance at the competition.

Specifically, participating in the competition, artists from the Cheo Theatre performed 3 ensemble pieces and 5 solo pieces. Of which, the ensemble piece “Gà rung” won first prize in the competition. Artists Vu Dinh Cuong, Pham Dao Khanh, and Nguyen Manh Hung were awarded second prizes in the drum solo, monochord solo, and erhu solo performances.

Musician Nguyen Manh Hung was awarded second prize with his solo performance on the two-stringed fiddle.
