Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 7 chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and more than 200 delegates from management agencies, news agencies and press units in the Military Region.
Speaking at the meeting, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 7 affirmed: In all conditions and circumstances, the armed forces of Military Region 7 always have the support of central, local and military news agencies and press.
The press has made important contributions to propagating the implementation of military and defense tasks of the Military Region's armed forces; connecting the Party Committee and the Military Region's Command with local Party committees and authorities, motivating and encouraging the entire people and army to build and defend the Fatherland, building a strong national defense; fighting against wrong views and ideologies, maintaining the Party's ideological position in the Military Region's armed forces, contributing to shining the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, soldiers of Military Region 7 in the new period.

At the meeting, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc also informed delegates about the situation and results of the implementation of the tasks of Military Region 7 in 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025. In particular, implementing the merger policy; building a lean, strong, and modern army, moving straight to modernity, the organization and staffing of local military agencies under the Military Region has changed, specifically: Receiving the Dak Nong Provincial Military Command (under Military Region 5) to Military Region 7 and merging it into the Lam Dong Provincial Military Command. The Military Region after the merger has 4 local military agencies including the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Military Commands of the 3 provinces of Lam Dong, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh; merging the Border Guard Command into the Military Commands of the provinces and cities and establishing 4 Border Guard Commands under the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Military Commands of the 3 provinces; establishing 19 regional defense commands.
After the reorganization, the Military Region still has 483 commune-level administrative units (including 2 special zones); 32 border communes, 21 coastal communes, 2 island communes; area of 52,558 km2 , population of over 24.5 million people. There is a 768 km long border with Cambodia, 322 km of coastline; there are 50 posts and 37 border stations.
The Military Region has proactively done well in ideological, organizational and policy work, maintained stability in the armed forces of the Military Region; developed and deployed combat plans in the new situation; adjusted the organization and personnel plans at all levels. Actively reviewed barracks, defense land, weapons, equipment, materials, logistics, technology... to prepare all aspects for dissolution, new establishment, handover, transfer, resolutely not to interrupt the implementation of military and defense tasks...

Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc also requested news agencies and newspapers to continue to maintain, expand and improve the quality of special pages, columns, news, articles and photos reflecting military activities, national defense, and defense diplomacy; the army's participation in United Nations peacekeeping activities; studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; the Campaign to promote tradition, contribute talent, and be worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era; promptly reflect the daily life of soldiers, especially in border areas, islands, remote areas; new models, creative ways of doing things and advanced examples of the armed forces of Military Region 7.
In particular, news agencies and newspapers continue to promote propaganda about important political events of the Party, State and Army, such as: Activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025)...
The Political Commissar of Military Region 7 informed that for the upcoming activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Military Region 7's Traditional Day (December 10, 1945 - December 10, 2025), Military Region 7 will organize propaganda and education activities; emulation and reward activities; cultural and artistic activities, physical education and sports; policy work, mass mobilization, construction of commemorative works; especially organizing the 80th anniversary of Military Region's Traditional Day.

At the meeting, representatives of press management agencies, news agencies, and newspapers also spoke and shared their opinions on solutions to increase the effectiveness of propaganda work on military and defense tasks and activities of armed forces in Military Region 7.
On this occasion, the Military Region 7 Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 23 collectives and 52 individuals of outstanding news agencies and press.
