Reporting on the results of the exploration of white silica sand in Binh Tan and Song Luy communes, Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan from the branch of Viet Mineral Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company, the consulting unit, said that the exploration work has clarified the geological and mineral characteristics of the exploration area; delimited the distribution area of white sand bodies that meet the quality of raw materials.
The unit has carried out exploration works including: exploratory drilling; well construction; collection and analysis of samples; sampling of trial production technology. The collected documents ensure sufficient basis for assessing the quality of white sand as raw material for the glass industry. The network of construction works and collected and synthesized documents provide sufficient scientific basis for calculating the reserves of white sand of levels 121 and 122 for the mine.
Regarding the results of lead-zinc ore exploration in Ban Lim area, Thai Son commune, Bao Lam district and Son Lo commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Northeast Geological Federation, the consulting unit, said that lead-zinc ore in this area was investigated and evaluated by the Federation from 2007 - 2013 and determined that the Ban Lim area has potential for lead-zinc ore.
The Northeast Geological Federation recommends that during the investment phase of lead-zinc ore mining and processing, the investor (Bao Lam Mineral Investment Joint Stock Company) should take samples for trial production on an industrial scale to accurately assess the recovery of lead-zinc ore concentrate and associated useful minerals. At the same time, clarify the economic efficiency, costs, prices, impacts on the ecological environment and other technical parameters in more detail and specifically.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Quy Kien and the Council members agreed with the mineral reserves at the two mines above. Specifically, for white silica sand in Binh Tan and Song Luy communes, Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province, the Council approved the total reserves of white silica sand grade 121 and 122 as 6.334 million tons in natural state, equivalent to 5.688 million tons in dry state.
For lead-zinc ore in Ban Lim area, Thai Son commune, Bao Lam district and Son Lo commune, Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province, the Council approved the total level 122 reserves and level 333 resources of more than 2.099 million tons of ore, containing 97,351 tons of lead-zinc.
At the meeting, the Council also assessed the mineral reserves in the Report on the results of the exploration to upgrade the reserves of refractory clay of all kinds within the scope of the Mineral Exploitation License No. 1740/GP-BTNMT dated January 5, 2007, extended in the Mineral Exploitation License No. 1654/GP-BTNMT dated July 7, 2017 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at Truc Thon mine, Cong Hoa commune, Chi Linh district (now Cong Hoa ward, Chi Linh city), Hai Duong, invested by RedstarCera Joint Stock Company and INCO Investment Joint Stock Company as the consultant.
Assessing the reserves of various types of clay to ensure the necessary reliability, the Council approved the reserves of 66,956 thousand tons of white and gray-white clay, 59,057 thousand tons of refractory mottled clay and 5,724 thousand tons of ceramic mottled clay in natural state.
