The tournament is a collaboration between the world's two largest football federations - UEFA (Europe) and CONMEBOL (South America), and will be held for the first time in 2023, following on from its predecessor, the Supercopa Euroamericana.
The UEFA–CONMEBOL Club Challenge sees the Europa League winners face off against the Copa Sudamericana winners - the South American equivalent.
If all goes to plan, Tottenham will face Argentina's Racing Club de Avellaneda, who were crowned Copa Sudamericana champions after a win over Cruzeiro last November.

Tottenham just won their first title in 17 years. |
However, the possibility of hosting this match is still open. Last year, the tournament was canceled when Atalanta and Liga de Quito could not agree on the schedule. Sevilla - the 2023 Europa League champions are still the defending champions when they beat Independiente del Valle in the first match of this tournament at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
According to British media, Racing Club president and former striker Diego Milito is keen to host a match with Tottenham, with Argentina or the US being the likely venue.
However, UEFA are sceptical whether a suitable date can be found, especially given Spurs' summer tour schedule of three friendlies in three different countries, including a derby against Arsenal in Hong Kong on July 31, before travelling to South Korea and then Germany to face Harry Kane's Bayern Munich on August 7.
While the UEFA–CONMEBOL Challenge is not as high-profile as the UEFA Super Cup, it is still a valuable opportunity for Spurs to build on their winning momentum and add to their trophy haul. As the club rebuilds and seeks stability under a new manager, being able to compete in an intercontinental tournament could be a huge boost to morale and reputation.
