"Awakening" the tourism potential of Thai Nguyen

With the goal of developing tourism into an important economic sector, Thai Nguyen province has been concentrating resources and implementing many synchronous solutions to "awaken" the province's tourism potential, focusing on forming unique, characteristic, branded and highly competitive tourism products, creating highlights to attract tourists.

Scenic spot, ATK historical relic site is one of the attractions that attracts many tourists from inside and outside the province.

In Thai Nguyen province, there are currently more than 800 relics and scenic spots that have been inventoried and protected according to regulations, most of which are historical relics, religious relics and scenic relics. Thai Nguyen tourism is becoming more and more attractive to visitors because not only does it have convenient transportation and rich natural resources, but Thai Nguyen is also a place where many ethnic groups converge, with a strong cultural exchange.

In order to "awaken" tourism potential, recently, Thai Nguyen province has focused on building and developing key tourism services including: Cultural, spiritual, historical, and origin tourism; Eco-tourism, resort tourism; Community and rural tourism associated with tea culture; focusing on forming unique, characteristic, branded and highly competitive tourism products, promoting digital transformation, applying 4.0 technology to introduce, advertise and promote tourism; creating the most convenient conditions for tourists to access destinations, use and experience services... Mr. Do Trong Hiep, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Tourism Association said: The Association will strengthen joint ventures and links with tourism businesses of the provinces to form inter-regional and inter-provincial tours and routes to attract tourists from distant provinces to Thai Nguyen .

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province also regularly organizes famtrips to promote its products to friends inside and outside the province, Ms. Tran Nu Ngoc Anh, General Director of May Plaza Hotel Thai Nguyen shared.

In 2023, Thai Nguyen province welcomed nearly 2.5 million visitors, including nearly 21,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue reached over 2,100 billion VND. By 2025, Thai Nguyen tourism industry will welcome more than 3.2 million visitors, total tourism revenue will reach 3,000 billion VND/year; by 2030, it will welcome 5.6 million visitors, total tourism revenue will reach 6,600 billion VND/year. Mr. Le Ngoc Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, also said that in the coming time, attention will be paid to supporting tourist areas and spots to complete products recognized as tourist spots, supporting community tourism spots and supporting training and experience exchange for organizations and individuals doing tourism in the province.

With the above potential advantages, along with the continuous efforts in building and exploiting tourism potentials, creating a network of tourist destinations both in breadth and depth, certainly in the near future, Thai Nguyen will become a favorite destination for any tourist when setting foot on this land rich in long-standing historical traditions and full of cultural nuances.
