Every year on February 27, generations of doctors often return to Dang Thuy Tram Infirmary in Pho Cuong Commune (Duc Pho Town) to respectfully offer incense to martyr, doctor Dang Thuy Tram. Martyr, doctor Dang Thuy Tram is a typical example of the young generation of medical professionals who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

In December 1966, after graduating from Hanoi Medical University, Dr. Dang Thuy Tram enthusiastically went to the South to fight in the Duc Pho battlefield, one of the fiercest battlefields in Zone 5 at that time. Less than 4 years later, Dr. Dang Thuy Tram heroically sacrificed herself while on duty, at Khe Nuoc Lanh, Ba Trang commune (Ba To). That year, Dr. Dang Thuy Tram was only 28 years old.

During the fierce war years, revolutionary medical staff wrote tragic songs with their intellectual dedication and blood. According to incomplete statistics, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Quang Ngai medical sector had about 600 medical staff who heroically sacrificed, hundreds of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and medical staff were exposed to Agent Orange - they devoted their entire youth to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The contributions of medical staff have gone down in the glorious history of the Quang Ngai medical sector such as: Bac Muoi Infirmary (Ba To); Nuoc Rieng Infirmary, T.30 Infirmary (Tra Bong), Dam Toai Tunnel (Binh Son), B23 Infirmary, A100 Surgery Station... are proof of the spirit of "a good doctor is like a mother" as Uncle Ho once advised.

“We, the revolutionary medical workers at that time, mainly treated and cured wounded soldiers and people in tunnels, underground tunnels, and in the forest canopy. There were times when we had to divide our staff into two groups: One group continued to treat and care for wounded and sick soldiers. The other group directly held guns to fight the enemy to protect wounded soldiers. Despite the hardships and dangers, with the spirit of “A good doctor is like a mother”, we always put the task of curing soldiers and people first, even above our own lives,” said former Head of A100 Surgical Station Tran Thanh Mai.

Continuing the heroic tradition, after the country's reunification, generations of doctors in the province strived to cultivate virtue and train their talents to be worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's advice "A good doctor must be like a mother".

Working in a special environment, susceptible to infection, doctors and nurses of the Department of Disease Control - HIV/AIDS (Son Tinh District Medical Center) have made great efforts to care for and treat 35 HIV-infected patients in the area, while also striving to successfully complete disease prevention and control programs; expanded vaccination...

In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", the department has made efforts to carry out mobile Covid-19 vaccination for workers at VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park - Urban and Service; organized vaccination at home for single people, people with disabilities... The spirit of tireless dedication day and night, responsibility for the community of the medical team at Son Tinh District Medical Center has contributed to the province and the whole country to control the Covid-19 epidemic.

With more than 30 years of working in the medical sector, Doctor Dang Van Diem - Director of Tu Nghia District Medical Center, has just been awarded the title of "Excellent Doctor" by the President. In particular, the topic "Research on the treatment results of type 2 diabetes through HbA1c index and some related factors" was carried out when Doctor Diem was working at Tu Nghia District Medical Center, contributing to improving the quality of diabetes treatment at the center. “When I put on the white coat, I kept in mind that I must live my life to the fullest for the people. I must have love for my profession and love for the sick. That will be the motivation for each doctor and nurse to constantly improve their expertise and skills, serving the people better and better, especially at the grassroots level of health care - the level closest to the people,” Dr. Diem confided.

Turning our hearts to the patients, "loving and caring for the sick as our own brothers and sisters" according to Uncle Ho's teachings, from the source of income and salary contributions of staff, employees, doctors, Binh Son District Medical Center has supported daily meals for poor inpatients at the hospital. "Originating from the fact that many poor people come to the treatment center, not having enough money for food. Many times, they only dare to buy porridge or rice for a few thousand dong. Seeing those difficult circumstances, I held a meeting with the whole agency and proposed the idea of supporting money for poor inpatients. The good news is that my idea was supported by doctors and nurses in the entire hospital", shared specialist II Vo Hung Vien - Director of Binh Son District Medical Center.

During the past few days, thanks to the financial support for food, he has saved some expenses and can rest assured during his treatment.
