This is the result recorded at the Workshop "Improving the quality of cooperative activities" organized by the Cooperative Union of Ca Mau province on the afternoon of November 11. Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, and more than 100 delegates representing departments, branches, businesses, banks and cooperatives in the area.

In recent times, the province's agricultural cooperatives have constantly innovated their methods of operation, gradually improving production and business efficiency. Promoting the application of high technology and transferring scientific and technical advances has helped increase productivity, product quality, and build brands for local agricultural products, thereby making an important contribution to socio -economic development.
Cooperatives are creating regular jobs for more than 12,200 workers, with an average income of about 50 million VND/person/year. The whole province has 129 products of 53 cooperatives recognized as meeting 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards, contributing to promoting the image and enhancing the value of local typical products.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union, shared about the operation of cooperatives after the merger.
However, in addition to positive results, the cooperative sector still faces many difficulties and limitations. The leadership and management capacity of many cooperatives is still weak, largely based on experience; charter capital and production and business capital is still low; the number of agricultural cooperatives applying high technology, smart production, organic production or value chain linkage is still modest.
Representatives of Dam Doi Ba Khia Cooperative shared experiences in digital transformation and application of e-commerce in product consumption.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing, sharing experiences and proposing solutions to enhance the role and position of agricultural cooperatives in Ca Mau province in the new period. Many contents of interest include: linking value chains and regional cooperation; supporting cooperatives to participate in the OCOP program; connecting agricultural production and consumption with businesses; promoting digital transformation associated with trade promotion; promoting cooperative resources in applying and replicating scientific research results in production; accessing capital and credit policies; improving management capacity and service quality of cooperatives.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Phuc, Deputy Director of Viettel Ca Mau corporate customers, introduced digital transformation and logistics solutions for cooperatives.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, Chairman of the Cooperative Union of Ca Mau province affirmed: "Promoting digital transformation in cooperatives is an inevitable trend, helping to improve management capacity, expand markets, increase competitiveness and move towards sustainable development for cooperatives".
"Linking digital transformation with value chain development is not only an urgent requirement but also a key orientation, contributing to increasing product value, expanding consumption space and creating momentum to promote the collective economic sector of Ca Mau province to develop sustainably in the new period" - Mr. Nguyen Van Vu emphasized.

On this occasion, the Ca Mau Province Cooperative Union and Viettel Ca Mau, a branch of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation in the collective economy for the period 2025 - 2030, and signed a contract to support cooperatives in using sales management software, contributing to improving the efficiency of operations, management and trade promotion in collective economic activities.
